Josie,
Don't mind them, they have champagne. I would love to hear more inspiratioinal stories of quitter's such as the one you just posted. That is very moving. If you know of any more, please share. I think sometimes we worry that we've already done to much damage to make a difference in quitting, but I know that's not the case. It's jut nice to hear it!!!

That's the most important fact Phil -- Our bodies will heal over time and that's so significant in our quit ! KNOWING that the positive is out there and also that we begin to see and feel improvements in just a few weeks of being non smokers :)
Mr. Ed >>> Monica is heading out to get in on that champagne meal.. how long do you figure it would take for me to get there from Toronto? I'd better start running now.. ;)

I am no expert but did some reading at the weekend in a Medical Journal.
Smokers are more liable to coronary diseases and significantly so.Theis risk increases with age so its never too late to stop!
I read the charts in some detail and looked at all the references to smokers and non smokers thinking how well I had done myself.
It was only when I got to the end that I noticed that the figures relating to non smokers assumed that the individuals had not smoked for 5 years!
The good news is that our bodies do heal if we help them ,4 years and 8 months to go!
Phil
