REAL bad day!

20 years ago 0 200 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Sorry that your day started so bad, Lester, but I see you were feeling better as it went on! That's good! Bec, I feel for you, too, it IS horribly draining after a day like that. I hope that tomorrow will be lots and lots better! Y'all brought up how the first day at work each week was the hardest. I can identify with that. The first day of the 5 day work week for me is Wed afternoon. (Kinda wierd) I dread going in all day Wed until I have to leave. I usually feel bad for the first couple hours or 50 miles (whichever comes first) and then the rest of the night is fine. The only other day of the week that's consistently bad is Sun, the last day of the week for me, and the day I work 13 - 14 hours driving. I just got home and drove almost 200 miles in little circles with pizzas in my car. I start dreading Sunday on Saturday! But the day went better (no parking and freaking out LOL!!) than I thought and I'M HOME NOW!!!! I made it!!!! Hope it stops snowing up there for everyone shoveling it, no snow here, but I got plenty of manure to shovel!! Hope everyone's Monday is great and we all get to post in the "Sucess" thread!

Thanks for the support everyone! Hey Trish, are you psychic? When I read your post , I thought to myself, "That's me!" Even my wife agreed! Mondays are TERRIBLE for me, by far the worst day of the week. Like you, if I can get through monday, the rest of the week is MUCH easier. I'm really feeling better tonite, most likely due to my Xanax. Tomorrow I will be upping my Paxil from 5 mg to 10 mg a day. Could make for an interesting day! I'm also sorry to hear your haveing a bad weekend Bec, hopefully this **** snow will end soon so we'll have one less thing to worry about!

Lester, Sorry to hear about your bad day. I'm having a bad overall weekend. I woke up yesterday with a panic attack and then had another when I was shoveling snow (I live in Pennsylvania so we got a lot too!) Then I had kept having one panic attack after another. Today, I'm just emotionally and physically drained. I haven't had any panic attacks today but I've just been jittery because I don't think I can deal with another one. Luckily I have a wonderful psychologist who was willing to do a phone session with me last night and that helped a little. Hang in there!! I'll be thinking about ya!

Hi Lester, I can identify with your situation. One I read thru one of your posts about starting Paxil not to long ago, and having restless legs. That is from the Paxil, it is called akathisia, and very common starting the medication. It does go away, it did in about 2 weeks time for me. Seemed when I started it, I was more nervy than usual, but as my body adjusted it worked wonders on my panic. Also my pyschiatrist took me up on my Xanax for awhile starting the medication to offset the extra nervousness, so I think your GP doc is doing the right thing till you get to see the Pdoc on the 24th. One other thing I find in common, is I was more anxious on Sundays anticipating going back to work on Mondays, horrid. After I could get through Monday, I would be ok for the rest of the week, till Sunday rolled around again. So I always tried my best to be most prepared for Monday mornings, ie. had clothes ready, woke up earlier to take my time, not feel rushed. And even left for work a tad bit earlier, seemed I missed the rush hour traffic then, or in my mind I didnt seem pressed for time, and things went way better. Be sure and grab at least a donut, cereal bar or something to eat in the mornings, and on Mondays, I also took my Xanax about 1 hour before leaving for work. Hope things do well for you tommorrow. Trish

Hey all, I really got into a major panic attack around noon time, called the doctor on call and he told me to take an extra 1mg of Xanax, which I did. I also layed down for a couple hours and am feeling quite a bit better. I hate taking all the extra Xanax, as I know it's very addictive, but it seems to be the only thing that helps. It'll have to do until I can get into see a psychiatrist. IT's impossible to get into see a shrink around here. The EARLIEST appointment I could get is Dec.24. I'm also on a "cancelation" list with another doctor, but the secretary said there is a 1 to 6 month waiting list. Unless you're suicidal, you can forget seeing a mental heath provider of any kind in Central Maine! Oh well, gotta just keep plugging away.

Lester, Sorry to hear that you are not having a good day today. Try to put your feet up, have a nice hot cup of something and close your eyes. If this does not help then go and take a hot shower. Hope this helps? Keep us posted :) Melanie

Just venting, but I'm having a really bad PA day! I had been feeling a little better the last couple days, but today is awful! I woke up this morning with a PA. And then had to go out and shovel snow for about 3 hours.(I live in Maine, it's a blizzard out there!) Came in when I was done and began panicking all over again. I took a .5 mg of Xanax, that seems to be helping a little. PLus I want to try getting back to work tomorrow, full time (I missed 3 days last week!) I just feel really overwhelmed right now. Thanks for listening!
