Being Positive

Thanks valic those are good suggestions. I will do something with the girls- healthy choice. I can also try getting on my knees and praying. I pray but never get on my knees- think I need to when I get those defient thoughts that I just don't care. I do care and I have people who care- I have to remember that in times of trouble. I appreciate the suggestions they are great. Singing Karaoke might be a good one too with the kids. Singing is uplifting. Thanks!

No Rainie I didn't I just made the choice well I had to go get bread for my twins for lunch and I said ok I am going to buy some cigs and I did make that choice consciously. Thank you for the cheeers I will also be cheering and praying for you. I need to think of God and what he wants for me and he wants me to lean on him and so that's what I need to do. That I think is the only way- surrender. It does suck with or without-got that right! Thank you :-)

Good Morning: well so much on being positive. I went and bought cigs last night and have continued today instead of doing the gum again. I plan to not buy another pack and start the gum again tomorrow before I get too far into it. I have so much going on, and I know that's excuses, trying to sell my house, my boyfriend went back to his mothers' (he has his own recovery going on) and we are nice to each other, but that's not what I want. I want to be together supporting each other, but anyways.. I hope someone can give me some encouraging words to let me know that it is okay- I will not give up giving up. I know smoking is so unhealthy to me and my kids. I can't let it go on past today but then I feel pressure. Help!!! I have smoked and believe me, it is not what we crack it up to be in our minds. I caved Sunday after another difficult week with boyfriend and bought some smoked about 4 then thew them out. they were nasty and I don't really regret because it just reinforces why I am quitting. I look at my meter and just discount those few I did have as ones I can't count but today I am two days smoke free again and I feel fine. If anyone else has slipped-get back on- don't keep smoking. I'm glad I threw them out. Thanks Rhonda: It's so good to get support and have someone give positive feedback. There is no use beating myself up- I did it- it's done- i'm back to my quit.

Back to withdrawals for me. I felt good this morning but I just ate and now I want a cigarette. I have to just let myself feel it, go through it, and let it pass. It is hard. I look at my quit meter and I'm sad that it's not true. I have at least not smoked 800 cigarettes, but I put myself back to square one. That stinks. Oh well---onward I go. Last night I came REAL close at 10;30 last night, in my pajamas already, but I called my boyfriend's mother and she told me NO. I had another fight with "so called' boyfriend. He is in recovery and he is going to counseling and now dealing with his feelings instead of using to hide them. But, the behaviors are there again of running away. I wanted to deal my old way of just having my cigarettes to get me through. You know what I did instead? I just sat on my bed and cried and said the serenity prayer about 15 or more times over and over. Then I took my sleeping pills (I have restless legs) and went to sleep. Thank God I woke up today smoke free still. Silly and Phil: No I havne't noticed that my legs are worse. clicking fingers huh? I do get up and move around more just because I think I am not going out at breaks to have cigs at work. At home I am always restless, cleaning up. That's another thing I did the other night when I was mad, instead of smoking I just kept cleaning. That was a lot nicer than stinking up the place, making it smell better! I sometimes play with a pen and put it into my mouth, not the ink part of course. I also have toothpicks on my desk for when I want to play with something in my mouth- keeps the teeth clean anyways. You have restless legs too silly? Do you take sleeping pills, what do u do for it?

Last night had an argument with my boyfriend and for a moment I felt like going to the store and getting cigarettes because I was so mad. But who would I have been hurting, myself! Thank God I didn't, I just cried and then put a nicorette in my mouth instead. Thank God for change and thanks for your support. Today I am feeling good because it is one more day and I haven't smoked and last night as rotten as I felt, it just wasn't an option anymore. I work with people in my job and when they come in smelling like smoke, that is another deterant to not smoking. It stinks! Ya pretty good. I say that because I still have an urge once in a while, the thought I should say is there. I am using the nicorette gum when needed. It is helping me to not munch so much either. I have great news for anyone who wants to check. I looked up my health insurance and it covers CVS brand nicorette. MUCH cheaper than buying in walmart or over the counter. I got 170 or so pieces, a big box for just my $10 copay. Very happy about that. Thank you guys for your support. I will keep posting, because support is also so important. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 23 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 590 Amount Saved: $253 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 5 Mins: 44 Seconds: 30
