-Dutch. Don't worry I won't smoke. I'm smarter than that. I just pissed and tired. So many other quitters feel G-R-E-A-T-!!! -Freebird. Thanks for reminding me I'm not alone and a pioneer here. Hopefully my story will turn out just like yours with a happy ending. Waiting patiently. Thanks for understanding the suckiness part. I'm right in there with you guys. Chronic sinusitis started about 7-8 years ago and after numerous doctor visits, allergy meds, and one CAT scan I learned that I have a slightly deviated septum (born with it) and the root cause of all my sinus problems was because I smoked. The day I found that out I bought Allen Carr's book. Six months later I quit smoking. 53 days in and my sinuses feel like crap, I've got perma-headaches and what seems like a constant cold. My chest feels tickly like I went through a pack of unfiltered Camels last night but no cough. I guess we do all cycle through this thing differently. I did read on a few 'googled' links that sometimes the damage to sinuses from smoking can be permanent. Defo worth going to a doctor and monitor things the the longer you're stopped. I'll be doing that myself and will certainly check in with any news! Hope you feel better (you to KiwiKeith)! You're never alone here, Audrey. The beauty of this group! It's near impossible to feel upbeat when you feel physically unwell. Be a bummer as long as you need to without guilt - you'll heal and get back to your cheerful self. I'm waiting for my own transformation so if I'm a nasty old grouch it's all for the vanquishing of old Nic. Keep the faith and pass me a tissue, I need to blow my nose again! ;) x T My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,249 Amount Saved: 297 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 13 Mins: 37 Seconds: 7

I have heard that it is kind of liek when you are pregnant - your allergies get bad then too, because of the incresed blood flow to you face and nose... Your blood flow has improved, and so it would make sense that your allergies would get worse - yes? I'm sure doc can get you an allergy medication, or you can try one of the natural nose sprays out there. Hello gf, I am so glad you feel better. I sure do hope that there is medication for your allergy. I know it has to be though. I know people with allergies and they have cats too. I have a nice little dog, Tootsey and she is the cutest thing ever. Say hi to the cats from her. Good luck and good health for you. Hi Audrey, I'm sorry you don't feel well right now but everybody is not the same. You have sinusitis and what not. You had that when you smoked and you still have it. Your body is filled with poisson after years of smoking and you can imagine, it takes some time to get it out of there. You have a cold, you just don't feel good. Now on the other hand, smoking would NOT make you better, it only makes you more ill. Smoking would not change anything!! You've gained some weight and you don't like that but that too is due to quitting and normal. The "thanks" you get will soon be there, it will get better after time. You didn't have these problems before you quit? It seems to me that you are looking for a reason to smoke. Let me tell you this: You will feel way worse if you light up. Just be patient, it will get better.
