yep, sadness seems to be a trigger for many. SOOOOO many other things to do instead of smoking though.

Hang in there Gonnadoit. Sometimes old routines almost sneak up on you when you're vulnerable. Just keep remembering "I Don't Smoke Anymore". Hope the nap helps!

So proud of you. That was pretty close. To bad he didn't have a dirty ashtray there. My husband put some old butts in a can and if I get a wiff of them it turns my stomach.

Gonna,
Good job on not smoking. I'm thinking about the fact that you smelled the cigarette. If you want a substitute of something for smelling, try flavored tea bags. I bought a nice flavored tea, and found that I like smelling the tea bags as much as drinking it! Yes, I know I could be a little weird, but who cares. Great job on not smoking!

Hi gonnadoit,
You are doing wonderful, looking at your feelings of sadness...yes..
This is exactly what we non-smokers (addicts) need to look at,
our feelings when these old urges come up.
Take a little walk the next time, it never ceases to amaze me what a few steps around the house or up the street will do for your iner ego...and breath..
good going !!

Gonna,
I hope by the time you see this message you've had a long, restful nap! Sometimes that's about the best thing to do! Hats off to you for resisting the temptation of your son's smokes! That says alot! Would you have you been able to resist 148 days ago? Stay strong, Gonna! As a nicotine addict, smoking is how I dealt with everything for 26 years! It takes time to figure out how to deal with life minus a smoke screen! But remember, the smoke screen is the easy way out! We've found a better, healthier way but we're new at this! Take it easy on yourself and make sure you haven't forgotten a sweet reward for your awesome quit!
Hugs for you,
Debbie
