Hang in there man. One thing that I have found that helps me is playing video games. My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Been there! Go through the routine...drink some water, suck on a peice of candy, take a deep breath, you know the drill. Keep putting the urge off. What helped me is researching why I felt the way I did. It is just your mind telling you that it is time to smoke. And it is going to until it knows that you don't do that anymore. You are basically reconditioning your mind. Don't cave yet, just give it a try! Don't go down without a fight! Thanks guys. I'm feeling a little better, but still want a butt. I'm not going to have one...NOT TODAY. Hey, Smoked1. I was thinking about you, how is it going? Coming home after a hard day at the grind is a killer man. Don't even think about doing it again. I know you want to quit. I KNOW IT and SO DO YOU! Just do it! I knew I wasn't anywhere near out of the woods yet, but I am would kill for a smoke right now. Not really stress related, this is a habit problem. I just had a beer with a buddy after work. I am home now, got the hell out of there after two brews. I'm hurting for certain. Do me a favor and drop me a line. I just want to sit and read for a few minutes, but the newspaper isn't cutting it. Thanks, Jimmy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 86 Amount Saved: $32.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 20 Mins: 20 Seconds: 38

No sweat Pete. I totally understand. I'm in my 40's, so I do know what Mick means. I chose to wear it like a badge of honor, it's no insult for me to have someone call me a Mick. That's what I am. My grandfather worked he docks in New York in the 40's and 50's. I call him a stupid Mick every time I see him (yes he's still with us and he smoked for 40+ years). My son's name is Bren. Anyway, thanks for helping me kill some more time. Seriously, it helps to come on this board and post these rediculous posts. I WILL NOT SMOKE TODAY. NO WAY. Pete G- I don't understand the last line of your post. Find someone named Bren? Do you know me? If you do, pick up the phone and give me a call...you've got my number. You'll understand why I'm asking if you know me. If not, at least your post was long. All that reading was a nice distraction after my morning bagel. My last name is Mc-----...Jimmy the Mick (Mc as in 'son of') Jimmy "Still the Mick" By the way...I WON'T SMOKE TODAY...NO WAY! Hang in there I had a beer at home the other day just to see if it triggered, nope it didn't but being in a bar would drive me over the edge I think. Its been 16 days for me and there are times when I think one won't hurt. Well one will hurt so I say ok why am I doing this?? For me it's my daughter ,she quit and is now 12 weeks smoke free and going to have a grandbaby in Aug. So I think I want to be able to see this new baby and not have to go outside and smoke then come in smelling like a dirty ash tray.I will be smoke free and stick to it. You did great in my book by posting and not smoking! I would have a hard time at the bar, but plan on hitting it next week! Marie
