Please help me, little scared, panic attack

I've been running my sister to doctor's all day, I can't breathe right now. I'm deep breathing and my stomach and chest hurt badly. I'm sure this will pass. What should I do. I have to get my daughther from school, afraid to drive, have no neighbors to all on, husband at work. I'll just stay here until it passes - panic attack? Oh, I don't feel good. Marie

Oh, sorry! It's passing. Now I just have a rapidly beating heart. I'm calling my doctor. I've never really had a panic attack. I am breathing rapidly but my heart isn't "hurting". That was so strange. I think I need to rest somehow. Marie

Thanks. I'll come back and reply individually when I can see the screen with two eyes. My doctor questioned everything and said it could be either anxiety or a drop in blood sugar. I had some food and felt good enough to finish my day but absolutely wiped out. I didn't smoke, though it the craving was moderate; For those of you suffer from PT, thank you for sharing and everyone thanks. Under a good deal of stress, sick Mom and very sick sister. Marie

Marie, Hang in there. One thing I am is a Panic Attack expert. Based on my previous history of many of them. My first one scared the ____ out of me and I was running to the ER. Just want you to know one thing that is very important. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THEM. If you can conquer this they won't come back or if they do they will subside faster. I have overcome them and barely ever have them. At most 1 a year. You are going through alot right now. I am on Day 4 and I did have a panic attack last night because I was dreaming I was going out of my mind. We are not however, our bodies are just adjusting to a better state. We can do this. Get a good nights sleep, you will feel better in the morning. You always need to rest up after a panic attack. If you need to ever talk I am around. Ok Marie.. You are having a panic attack and what you need to do is some really deep breathing exercises hon.... In deep through your nose and out slooooowwwwwwwwwww through your mouth.... Keep repeating that about 10 times hon.. Take it easy it's all going to pass... Trust me it will. You've been under stress ? Just keep doing the deep breathing.. and when you know it's over - wait a good 1/2 hr. then take a long hot shower sweetie... The hot/warm water will feel good on your body. Please post and let us know how you are now..ok? Hi Marie I'm a little too late to help. I hope that you are okay. My anxiety was extremely high at the beginning of my quit. When our anxiety is high, we are susceptible to panic attacks. Exercise, lots of water, deep breathing, yoga, warm baths and other relaxing activities can help to reduce anxiety. Please let us know how you are doing.... Marie, How are you now sweetie? I hope that you're doing OK. I'm so sorry you're having a difficult time, but smoking will most certainly NOT help! Keep the breathing up and let us know how you're doing. Crave the Quit! Many moons ago I got into a very bad car accident. Afterward, every time I got onto the interstate I had a panic attack. Only then, at age 20, I did not know what it was. My heart raced and I felt like I could not swallow. I would feel like I was about to pass out. After months of this, I got into the car and made myself drive on the interstate for four hours. I pulled over several times and cried, called a friend who knew what was going on for moral support, etc... but I DID it...and...I lived. Since quitting I get that same sensation when I am under stress and catch myself REALLY wanting to smoke----when I am really angry or pressed for time. Recognise it for what it is....and it is easier to overcome. The more you face your demons, the easier it becomes. If all else fails, seek some professional help. There is also a sister site to SSC you might want to check into.
