Hi, glad to have found you all. I now weigh 159 and was 130 when I first quit. I would like to get down to 120 since I am only 5ft 2in and even at 130 was starting to get the "barrel" look! I am starting Curves tomorrow for 3 times a week. I plan on taking a dance class once a week. I also would like to swim once a week. I am looking forward to getting more energy out the the exercise since I am still very tired from not smoking. Then there's the food part to manage....I am paying attention to what I am shoving into my mouth but have not decided yet what type of diet to do, there are so many, ....maybe just eat sensibly, and cut the fat and sweets. I will check in this thread and update my weight stats. Hi everyone, You all seem to be doing so well and I am motivated by your commitment. I did post a low fat recipe but somehow the whole thread got deleted??? Maybe we are not allowed to post recipes? So I went to Curves again yesterday and now I just signed up for the 6 week Curves Challenge, a support group that meets once a week and we will follow a diet together. I will be able to also post my calorie intake and fat as well. Silly and Windy, congrats on your weight losses...you are such good girls! Ok, so I didn't throw out the fudge but the family helped me to eat it. Lost 3 pounds...now at 156. Don't know how that happened??? A miracle of some sort perhaps? So far, I have walked 45 minutes with dog every day but I went to Curves only once. I am snacking on little high fibre snackcrisps called "Ryveck". They are light and taste good and ONLY 20 calories each. Can hardly wait to start that Dance class... Ok, so I went to Curves yesterday and then went for a 45 min walk with the dog. Today I went for another 45 min. walk with the dog. I will be starting a salsa dance/fitness class next week. I am just going to dance those calories away..... On the food side, I have been trying but the idiot that I am, I went and made some fudge last night with the excuse that I had to use up the 35% cream.....I am trying not to eat it, maybe I will just throw it out. I am going back to Curves tomorrow. They are doing some kind of 6 week challenge thing starting Monday. I will go and see what it is. Hello everybody - Dieting and socializing seem to be a problem for me...hmmm. Yesterday, I went to the gym and did a full hour of cardio (and worked myself to death) because I knew that I would be staying at my sister's. Good thing too - Calories - 2325 (47.5 % carbs, 29 % fats and 23.5% protein) Amazing to note - the potato chips were WAY were than the 3 glasses of white wine as far as dieting goes (At home, I don't have potato chips so I don't eat them) Today - 45 min walk (everybody still in bed)...Back on track with dieting....1246 calories (47.8 % carbs, 37.5 % fat, 14.7% protein) It would have been even better except for the bacon and eggs that we had before I left! Diet food in the oven cooking for supper tonight. I do believe that if I just became a hermit...I would do WAY better with this dieting... Only down 1/2 pound this week and that was BEFORE I went to my sister's. Hi Danielle I think that my problem is that I have a big appetite. When I am at home, I can eat more with less calories because of the food choices. In addition, now that I am starting to eliminate unhealthy choices (i.e lots of butter, gravy, etc.) from my diet, they taste REALLY good when I get the chance to have them. I know that once I've attained my weight loss goals, it will be easier to cheat every once in awhile (probably even once a week)...I'm just having a little trouble getting there.... Grace - Perhaps I could borrow your baby...Mom's burn alot of calories just being Mom's! No exercise for me today. Calories - 1245 45.4% carb 34.4 % fat 20.2 % proteins You should see how much cholestoral is in 1/2 cup of scrambled egg (and I thought that I had a healthy lunch!!) I was so happy with myself because I am trying sooooooooo hard when I found out that BOTH my coworkers lost 4 lbs (and I only lost 2!) I was debating skipping the gym tomorrow and sleeping in.........but ....guess not! EOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUCH! Word of advice - NEVER NEVER go to your mother's for supper.... Yesterday (at my Mom's) Calories - 2764 (Can you believe it???) 32% carbs 29.9 % fats 38 % proteins To make things worse, my neighbour left me date squares today! Still today was better: 1262 calories 57.5 % carbs 19.5 % fat 23.5 % protein 30 minute high intensity cario/weight class... Guess I better just stop visiting my parents for the next 5 months....
