princess, regarding hubby, the quit has to be his choice i'm afraid there is nothing you can do to make him quit until he is ready to take that step. until them i agree with josie, why not let hiim look around the siteand answer his questions fondly lynnexx My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 561 Amount Saved: 148 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 4 Mins: 50 Seconds: 30

I have heard alot of good things about a new quit drug called Chantix. Also, I reccommend reading Allen Carr's book. It put a whole new spin on things for me. Princess, I'm sort of going through the same thing with my bf who CONSTANTLY says he wants to quit and "this is the last pack!" I can't tell you how many "last packs" I've seen him go through! I don't push, don't harp, only answer questions and pray that one day, it's for real. I think that's all we can do. It's frustrating for sure, but pushing only makes it worse. Best wishes to you! I hope yours quits soon. Crave the Quit! I agree with it has to be his choice. But it certainly can't hurt to leave subtle hints around---Like Carr's book, articles and info on smoking cessation..... Maybe one day the lightbulb will come on... I was a die-hard smoker. Three packs a day for 34 years. My motto then was 'nobody likes a quitter'. Look at me now... Tell your husband to go to his Dr. and ask about Chantix. It is a new prescription. It seems to have better results with those that score high on dependency. I have done EVERYTHING. This quit I went from patches to the Chantix as it became available at my Dr's advice. The cravings aren't killers and makes it sooooo much easier to then break the 'habit'. Good luck! Hi Princess, I also have a smoking spouse. We quit together on June 7th and well, I'm still quit and he gave in by August. He said he likes smoking and quitting wasn't for him blah blah blah (oh and that he can't do it cause its his stress releiver). Hate to say it and looks like it was said before me, you can't make him quit. I've been just loving him and leaving little emails people like Shevie had sent me laying around. Someday he may pick them up with curiosity. All I can say is when I smoked, naggers would get me smoking more. I may go and buy that Alan Carr book just for my hubby and leave that around too. I just keep hoping he will quit but like everyone here says, it has to be his decision and his quit. Good luck and hope you have success with your hubby!! Hi princess, I don't have much to add that hasn't already been spoken. I just want to re-enforce that you can't make someone quit. My wife says she feels guilty but has no intention of quitting... not today anyway. I pray that she will quit before bad illness finds her. But, it's her choice...
