I have been on Chantix for 14 days now and have not had any problems with it so far. I think about smoking a lot less but I really am moody. Although, the dreams are pretty interested, that is, when I actually do sleep. Good luck and keep posting. I'm very interested to hear how you do without it.

Going to try anyway. I have taken it for 17 days. For 17 days I've been so sick to my stomach I could hardly stand it. I need a break or I may need treatment for going mad. :) Mom took it for 7 days and no more. Maybe I can cut it off in 17. Of course I'll report back how I feel, what cravings are like etc. If I find I'm out of control I'll be back on Chantrix in a heart beat. For two weeks I have not been functional. I can't be down and out much longer, I have to get back to being productive. I'll say this, while I won't miss the sour stomach 24/7 but I will miss those Rockin' Kick butt dreams! There should be a place where we can post our Chantix dreams. I suspect it would make for some interesting reading :)

Well, it's almost 24 hours since my last Chantrix. I haven;t noticed much of a change except the stomach. It's settled somewhat better but still not back to normal. How long it takes now for me to be Chantrix free I have no clue. I'm also clueless that I'll feel like when it does. I havent; noticed any cravings difference today. It's been pretty much the same and will power and self control have been key as usual. It's a choice on Chantrix. I'm resisting and trying to break the habit of reaching for one. Nothing new there of course Chantrix or not. I'll report back in the morning how I feel.

Been off Chantix a few days. Haven't noticed any increase in cravings over when I was taking it. I'm assuming the chantix is out of my system now and I'm still smoke free. My cravings I would rate at about the same as the day I got off the Chantix. It's still a little uncomfortable and it hasn't really subsided much. I hope this goes away with time, I sometimes still feel like I need nicotine to calm down. Of course that's not a real option now but I look forward to the day I feel normal in the morning. Afternoon, evening no probelm, but the mornings are still pretty rough.

Went to the doctor today. I was concerned I could not feel my heart beat, I was having some chest pain. They took blood but was hard to find a vien. Never had that issue before, I have always had veins you can hit in the dark. They did an EKG, didn't take long. Took BP, temp etc. They can't find anything wrong except acid Reflux. LOL. Funny, how we get used to feeling our heart beating out of our chest, we think that's normal. Veins protruding out far enough they can be seen through our clothes. Blood Pressure - 118/82 Pulse rate 64 Temp 98.4 EKG P:Qrs 1:1 Normal Limits P Axis The only thing different with me is I'm now normal for the first time in 40 years. Hell, I thought I was sick!

Think I'll go hunt down some Abba today. I've been awake for a few hours and as always on the computer. Still off medication and feel about the same as on the meds except no upset stomach. I don't feel worse than when I was taking Chantrix. This is causing me to reflect back over all this. I'm thinking Chantrix is a drug that takes control of your withdrawls until you can control them yourself. If indeed nicotine is out of your system after 3 days and the above statement is true, there may be little reason to take Chantrix over a few weeks. Cravings I think are another matter. I define cravings as just wanting one, not needing one as in the case of withdrawal. Cravings can be delt with using self control. Sure as I sit here, I could so light up, but I just say no and don't. Habit: I smoke when I wake, smoke after I eat, smoke at my desk, smoke when I'm driving. Are these needs, cravings or habits after 3 weeks of non-smoking? I believe now that these are habits and habits can be broken. Just don't do it and NOT doing it becomes my new habit. Triggers: If I'm awake it's a trigger. I smoked everywhere except the shower. My fingers were orange 2 weeks ago. Happy to report there was pink under there after all. I'm not out of the woods yet but I'm starting to understand the differences in will power versus things out of my control. My sense is that Chantrix took control until I could take control myself. That nasty stuff is out of my system now for the most part, the rest is up to me to make new habits and have those become my norm. I'm planning on replacing old habits with new and in my mind, it's no more complicated than that now.

JosephL Please keep us posted on how it is going.....I also am on chantix, but have not had any side effects...only a few vivid dreams.... I think I only thought about having a cig a few times today. I actually was surprised how much I didn't think about it. But I am worried about coming off the chantix, but will not attempt for at least the 3 months. I'm thinking good thoughts for you. Please do keep us posted. I, too am sick of feeling sick (in the evenings). Did u talk to your doc about perhaps reducing dose instead of going off alltogether? I think u said u r on 2 mg 2/day. I'm on half that. I'd like to feel better at nite, but I also really like being able to breathe.

I went off welbutrin 2 days ago for the same reason you seem to have given up on the Chantix, very bad stomach pain. However dreams werenot a positive side affect in fact I slept poorly while taking it. Happy to report it doesn't seem to have effected my cravings one way or the other. I might suggest an interesting non pharmaceutical I ran across that I am using as a sort of replacement to the welbutrin Its called Abba, no it does not sing old radio tunes however iot does help produce the regeneration of HGH which is a natural hormone created by our bodies. As we grow older the production of these are drastically reduced causing the aging proccess. HGH is also produced to help with healing in the body and who but us ex smokers need healing more. Its my second day and it seems to be aiding in sleep and calming of nerves which are two areas I was having difficulty with I'll Keep you posted. In the mean time stay good and hang tough. Den2 :) :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 489 Amount Saved: $480 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 22 Mins: 18 Seconds: 58
