Fell off the wagon...need to get back on

You can do it...the patch is working very well for me, but remember we use NRT's to "help", but as we are learning very quickly, we have to be on guard always and forever and remember N.O.P.E. I think that is most important. Good luck! Is it Mustang Mama? I'm hearing great things about this new pill called Chantrix; if I had it to do all over again, I would definitely go that route. Good luck, and welcome back. peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 919 Amount Saved: $99 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 5 Mins: 16 Seconds: 11

Hi mate There are all sorts of products to help you but at the end of the day its down to your desire and willpower. Just for info I started on 15mg patches went down to 10 then 5 and then onto 2mg chewing gum.As of today I allow myself half a piece in the morning at around 10.00m and the other half at around 4.00pm.So you can see I am still having to work at it.In retrospect Cold Turkey may have been better I will never know because I will never smoke again Hope this helps Phil My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 101 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,024 Amount Saved: 530.25 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 21 Mins: 17 Seconds: 31

I haven't been on for quite a while because I started smoking again. I am working on a new quit date and new method of quitting. This will be like my ninth time trying to quit.... But I am not giving up just yet. I truely do believe there is hope yet. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Last time I quit, I was taking wellbuterin. I think that I am going to try the patch again. Hope to chat with some of you soon. mstngmama My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 135 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,378 Amount Saved: $742.5 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 10 Mins: 4 Seconds: 54

Mstngmama, You've experienced a relapse, now is the time to learn from it and keep going. If your quit plan wasn't always effective in helping you fight cravings, it is now time to review your plan, identify problem areas and modify what wasn't working. Were you rewarding yourself frequently? It is important to have something to look forward to and work towards to keep ourselves from feeling deprived. What motivates you through those cravings? What have you replaced smoking with? Ex: You use to smoke with your cup of coffee, now you read the paper instead. What other coping mechanisms are you using to help you fight cravings? Gum, walking, posting, mints, deep breathing, water? Keep strong! You can do this! Danielle _________________________ The SSC Support Team

Just look as your previous quit as a road map to get stopped. I have had many quit attempts also. I would liked to have said I stopped and that was it, but it aint so. But with each quit I have learned more and more. Get your self ready and come join us.
