Mama, I used to be an assistant manager at Wal-Mart, so I know what you're talking about. Trust me, I've been on both sides of these stories, and I'm sure that all three of these guys went home and told their friends/families about the crazy girl who came in the store today. But... Cigarettes... $4.00. Lighter... $1.00. The look on each one of these guys' faces... priceless! :) Crave the Quit! For some reason, I started thinking today about all of my quitting-related antics that have occured in various stores since my quit. I thought I would share them and maybe bring a smile to somebody's face today. :) There was the time I went to buy my N.O.P.E. bracelet. I walked in to the store and told the sales associate that I wanted an identification bracelet. He showed me the bracelets and I picked out the one I wanted. Then, he said "do you want your name engraved on it?" I said "Nope." He said "What do you want it to say?" I said "NOPE." He said, "huh?" I said, "N.O.P.E." And he proceeded to engrave that on my bracelet. He never asked what it stood for and I never told him, since he didn't ask. One time, about 2 months after I quit, I was checking out at the grocery store where I used to buy cigarettes and had a lot on my mind. I was writing a check, and thinking about all of the things I had to do that day. The cashier asked me, "do you need anything else?" I said, "yes, I'd like some Winston Ultra Lights in a box." Then, I realized what I said and looked up from writing my check and said, "nevermind. I just remembered, I don't smoke." My favorite one was when I went to buy cigarettes to destroy them. I'd been having a really bad day, and felt like taking it out on a pack of cigarettes by destroying them (stupid, yes I know, but it really did help me, but I will never do it again). I walked in and said "I'd like a box of your cheapest cigarettes you've got." He said "full flavor or mild?" I said, "it doesn't matter, I'm not going to smoke them anyway." He looked very puzzled and said, "It makes no sense to me why you would buy cigarettes and not smoke them." I said, "it makes more sense than buying cigarettes and smoking them!!!" Hope I put a smile on somebody's face today. :) Have a great smoke free day everybody! Crave the Quit!
