Thanks Rainie. That is really GREAT News. Please keep posting! I know I have issues to work with, but Chantix really is helping. I am glad to find other Chantix users. I am new to this group and am also taking Chantix. I have been taking it for two weeks and have my last smoke yesterday. I was really worried about today (AM Coffee was my biggest concern). But I have not had any real cravings compared to those I have had the last 3 time I quit. I have smoked for almost 40 years about 1 pack a day. I feel like I am waiting for a shoe to drop! Is it going to hit later? Any insight from those along the way would be appreciated. Today is my quit day. I started on Chantix 7 days and today wasn't been as bad as I thought, but it is only day one. Im excited to hear some success stories on the drug and it even motivates me more. So far no side effects, but some vided dreams. Kudos to everyone! Yes, I am using Chantix as well. It's been 5 days and no ciggies. I feel great. No mood swings, no cravings. I do feel myself getting irritated a little quicker than I used to but am able to recognize it and put it back in it's place. Let's all keep up the good work! We can do it!!!!!!!!!!1 My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 197 Amount Saved: $36 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 9 Mins: 59 Seconds: 4

Hi jnine, I have been using Chantix since last Thursday, and today is my quit day. You didn't mention how long you have been taking it but what you are describe sounds like it is pretty normal reaction to taking the drug, I haven't been real grumpy, though my wfe thinks I am grumpy all the time ;)no big emotional swings, no side effects to speak of, so enjoy it and work toward the ultimate goal. This stuff is good BUT it is not a magic bullet, Kiwi Keith hit it on the head when he siad it is attitude and determination which works well in combination with the medicine. Good luck, stay with it, don't question it, just go with the flow...Mr.Magic My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Jnine, I am also on chantix and finding the same. Very few withdraw symptoms. What I am most enjoying is the lack of craving. I can even be around smokers without having one. I won't push it, but good to know I can do it. Can't stop living because I am not smoking, but I am keeping aware of my surroundings to increase my chances of success. I think the chantix is really helping. Hopefully coming off it will be easier than cigarettes! Keep posting so we know how it is going..... Hi I wnat to know if anyone else takeing chantix is feeling the same way as me. I know the it can get worse at any time because I have quit so many times, but I haven't went through real bad withdrawls. I haven't gotten crabby, Haven't had the crying jags. I think about smoking but blow it off real fast. I haven't been anxious or nervous either. Is there something wrong or is it that I had quit for 3 years last time? I am confussed. I don't want to say it's the chantix because I really don't know what is going on but I like it. I don't want to make it seem that is is real easy quitting but it is not half as bad as it has been. Talk to me how are the other quitters feeling? Jnine

Hi, another Chantix user here. I've tried every which way to quit. This has been an amazing quit for me, it's still hard, but I want to quit permanently this time so that determination combined with Chantix is making me a success story. The first week was hard (I was sick as the leaflet mentions) but pushed through it. I've been on it since December 17 and I plan on doing 2 courses. I smoked for 30 years, 1.5 packs a day therefore, my doctor has no problem with me doing back-to-back treatment plans. My insurance doesn't cover it anyway (how silly is that - you know how much they're saving from my non-sick dayss already)..........I really like Chantix, though I worry about what the long term affects are as it is so new to the market. I hope I can jump straight off them and not have to wean, which will probably be the case but by 24 weeks, I'm sure I'll changed my behavior and be 100% ready to continue my fight against nicotine addiciton for the rest of my life, without giving it a second thoguht. Well done and good luck with it! For all you new Chantix quitters: Take a look at my stats,(coming up on 4 months quit), keep in mind that I smoked more than 2 packs a day for over 35 years and that I have now been through the 12-week Chantix program and have been totally on my own for a number of weeks now. I feel strong, very strong. 'Nuff said? Yes, Chantix is very effective. BUT you still have to want to quit MORE than you want to smoke. And you STILL have to believe in yourself as a nonsmoker and stay angry at the addiction. Go get 'em, all you Chantix people! Make it work! Keep the faith -- and your fabulous quits!
