Excellent news Mr. Ed :)
We here in Ontario, Canada have been smoke free in all public places since this summer. And just recently I saw a few commercials for some hotels here that are completely smoke free too - no smoking rooms at all !
It is good news for the U.K. !

... it's just been announced - is the first day in England when smoking will be banned in public places.
In Scotland and Ireland it is already, and in the land of my Fathers (Wales), this will happen in April.
good news for all in the UK!

Down here in New Zealand smoking in public has been banned in public for nearly 3 years. This includes all bars, restaurants, hotels, casinos, sports grounds and stadiums. everywhere except outside, and they are trying to ban that too !!
I don't know what to think about it, there are positive sides and negative sides too as I believe it infringes upon everyones right to choose for themselves.
cheers
