well thanks all for the imput i know i have not lifted anything more than usual, the tension is a possibility. yesterday i tried what i should be doing anyway...i drank 12 glasses of water and that has helped, the soreness is much less. now i just need to keep drinking that water. thanks for responding. ks My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 242 Amount Saved: $50 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 51 Seconds: 2

Most likely your shoulder blades are sore to if you applied pressure. I have sore arms all the time and it is from the main source of joint paint. Mainly caused by tension and stress. You are under alot making this quit count. Take a hot bath or get a good massage. Careful not to massage the actually upper arm muscles too much though, it could be a calcium buildup known as bursitis and that just worsens it. I would work on light massage or the joints in the upper back and neck and you will feel relief in that arm. Hope you feel Better. Muscle Tension is another thing I deal with All the Time. I've had a severely sore right elbow since my quit, and am suspecting it has something to do with sleeping patterns while using the patch. Arm in the wrong position or something while I sleep. On the contrary, I used to have very sore muscles following exercise, thought it was a chronic back and thigh injury and once the oxygen started getting to it following my quit, these 'injuries' are becoming almost non-existent. Not sure if that helps any? My neck and shoulders are tight, as that is where I store my tension, but that doesn't sound the same as you are experiencing. Are you sure you haven't been lifting something? I had one arm sore at the beginning of my quit, and wondered what it was, then remembered I had carried some really heavy stuff a couple days before that. Since my brain was off-duty that first week, it took awhile fore me to remember what I had done. :8o: My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 144 Amount Saved: $27.02 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 16 Mins: 10 Seconds: 8

Maybe you need to relax. That was kind of funny. But it is a ajustment for our body and mind.I haven't herd anything about sore muscle's. Herd of a lot of other things. I got shingles. I think from my quit. If it keeps up go to Doc. Your 9 day's are supper. I experienced some muscle weakness, I guess you could say. But I realized I was clenching my fists and my shoulders were sooooo tense. Are you sure you are not subconsiously tightening those muscles? See your Dr. if it keeps up.
