19 days , whats going on?

I have had a similar experience this week about the same number of days as you. I am not sure why, but it seems to be going a way now. For me it was more of a something is missing or does not feel right. Maybe this whole thing is just getting old. After cleaning and laundry reading seems to be the next best thing for me (other than this site which is great) Good luck and hang in there... nothing should take us back we are free! redytoquit, You can come down and clean my house!! Giggle just a little because you need to. You're doing a great job on your quit and you've worked so hard. In a few days, you'll have more housework to do but for now, you can take those few days and totally pamper yourself. Do what Monica58 said too. I read her post and found myself getting sleepy and so relaxed. LOL Hang in there and keep us posted. You're doing wonderful. :) Say there redytoquit It's OK...normal in the first weeks to have this edginess/nervousness happen! It won't always be like this. It does get better and eventually goes away. But...it will take a little time. Don't worry. (if it gets so bad you can't stand it, call the Doctor) Take deep breaths...it really does help. Eat Bananas (if your present state of health allows)...very good for the nerves and also helps replace potassium loss from all the water we are drinking and flushing. Keep the quit and keep posting auntdeb ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 53 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,690 Amount Saved: $251.75 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 9 Mins: 42 Seconds: 37

I have never ran out of things to do only because I made myself a list of distractions which grew from about a dozen items to over 2 dozen over the last few months. One helpful idea might be to take a long hot shower or bath and then put on one of your favourite pieces of night clothes or a housecoat and gather up some of your favourite snacks, settle in to watch a good movie - preferably something cute/comedy/fluff type and then get to bed early! A good night's sleep is often very helpful :) You are doing a wonderful job thus far.. stay strong and stay distracted ! (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) of support! The evenings were my toughest time. I spent alot of time on SSC and it saved my quit several times. Redytoquit, How are you doing today? Smoking did take up a lot of your time. You've been given an opportunity to have that time back, take advantage. It's time to find new passions. Is there anything you've ever wanted to learn or try? Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

give yourself a HUG....cause YOU are in control.....and at first we hardly know what to DO with that control....we frantically clean, cook, shop, whatever, take our minds from smoking....and then we reach this first hurdle.....we actually SEE the empty space (EXTRA space actually) that quitting brings us.....and we sort of panic and have a crave. Realize that this is normal....and just fill the space with something that pleases YOU...something you have thought of doing or wished to do. In other words TREAT yourself!! and make sure you associate the pleasure of that treat with the fact that you no longer smoke! Set up more rewards.....and when you feel scared, think about reaching the reward. YOU are finally in control of your life. It's an awesome feeling...and it takes some getting used to congratulations!!!
