Withdrawl is unlike anything I've read

18 years ago 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Being stubborn is good. I just signed up; have tried several times before to quit but this will be the time. I've used stubbornness before just to keep smoking but this time I'm using it to stop. Wish me luck, my stop date is 1-31 and I've been preparing all this month for that date. I can hardly wait for those withdrawl symptoms.

I was a stubborn smoker, and I'm a stubborn quitter. 25+ years and never had I gone more than 5 waking hours without a smoke. No more. For all those approaching their quit date, my advice on the first 5 days: Quitting is only hard because it's easy to fix the discomfort. You have to take it for the team! And be stubborn! My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 4 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 61 Amount Saved: $24 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 55 Seconds: 38

Welcome Stubborn and CONGRATULATIONS for quitting!!! You're doing so well and we're proud of you. Yes, we've all got a stubborn side to us or we would never have made it here, let alone stuck around. Thanks for reminding me to use my stubborn side as a useful tool in my quit. :) Pat Quit or try dying My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/28/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Hi stubborn - Welcome to the group and congratualtions on your quit. I smoked over 35 years and tried to quit many, many times. I don't know why, but this quit was different. It was pretty easy this time and other than a passing thought or two, It's been pretty easy going for me. I was well prepared for my quit this time. I don't think I could suck that nasty crap into my lungs again if I tried! Good luck to you. I wish you the best! -- 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 31 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 894 Amount Saved: $170.5 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 5 Mins: 51 Seconds: 15

Great name!! Lol, it is good to be stubborn in this battle. Everytime you go to have a sickarette just remember who you're hurting, and don't let someone else stress you out enough to relapse- these thoughts got me through some tough situation. You are too stubborn to let anything jeapordize this very quit. You know you'll never smoke again. CONGRATULATIONS!! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 115 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 926 Amount Saved: $407.1 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 15 Mins: 40 Seconds: 7

Congrats on those four awesome days, Stubborn! You should be very proud of yourself! And yes, you are sooooooo right! It is "easy" to eliminate the discomfort of this quit journey. But we have chosen the high road and will reap the awesome benefits of healthy lungs, fresh air and soooo much more! Stay strong and stay stubborn!
