Thanks Mr. Ed, I needed to read that!!!!!!!!!! I worry about that. I worry about the next family death - will I go running to the store to pick up cigarettes (AGAIN). NO! I am glad you are feeling better. I also hate the shorter days. Winter makes me want to sleep, sleep, sleep. And then there is year end accounting that I do, uggghhh, and I hate accounting LOL. I'm soooooo glad you are feeling better. You make a brilliant point in your post! One that is going right into my journal right now! Mr. Ed, So glad your feeling better. Sometimes, I have to stop what I'm doing (if angry, frustrated, depressed, down, sad), and evaluate why I'm feeling like that. It just takes a couple of minutes, but I try to do that so I can recognize what exactly is going on with my mood, and come up with a plan (other than thinking about a smoke). It's important to recognize our feelings and come up with creative and effective ways of coping with every day life and stress. I actually sometimes finding myself taking deep breathes when I'm frustrated, and that seems to really calm me down. It's a learning process...learning how to cope with life as a non-smoker, and it can be done!!! :) Kaiti My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 62 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,373 Amount Saved: $341 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 15 Mins: 14 Seconds: 19

Mr. Ed, You have been such a rock and I am so emotional right now that I just want to reach out to you. But, you are right. Life is life, such as it is and it never seems easy when we are in the thick of it. No matter how long its been, ol' nic can come creeping around. But, it sounds like you are in a good position to give him the boot. There is never a good time to quit as there is never a good time to start. Just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you in this grey time of year, which I hate to rub salt, but is one of my favorites. I'm going to light my fireplace, even though it's really too warm here. I'll have to open the window. Hello Mr. Ed - You are right - These dark dreary days are sometimes hard and family rows are no picnic. Thank you for posting. Life does go on with it's ups and downs and will continue to do so whether we smoke or not. Regarding the pet - I have a lovely little kitten who likes to create mayhem wherever she goes .... How bout I send her over there to keep you company. I promise that you won't be bored! Mr Ed. So sorry, look for things that will make you happy. Do you have a pet? They can make you happy. Look around you and appreciate what you do have. And one of the best things that you do have is freedom from smoking. That's enough to make one jump on and down. As you so rightly pointed out, the smoking is a nothing, a nothing in any of our lives. The time will come when it will all fade away. Be happy today and every day! I wonder why all of us let ourselves get into such a smoking mess. Honestly, what kind of fools were we anyway.
