Dear friend,
I wish I had some magic thing to say or give you to make it all better! There have been moments for me in the last few weeks that have far outdone any craving I've had in the first couple of months. Like I've been told, the 'thrill is gone' of the initial addiction break and now it's a matter of dealing with the low, steady hum of habit remembrance. As time goes on, it gets quieter and quieter and I've got a hunch that it will someday go away completely. But everybody has a different day and no one knows when that day will arrive for them.
Even though being around smokers is dangerous to my quit, it may have strengthened yours. Now that you are alone, no need to be 'strong' in your quit since temptation isn't at hand.
Who knows why . . . I'm guessing and am certainly not an expert on this 'quit smoking business'. Think you've got some great advice already, which is to stay busy for now. I know that "get busy" stuff gets old real fast now, but if it gets us closer to the day when the 'hum' is gone, then it's worth it.
Big Hugs, Ericon
