Thank you all for your responses I am feeling some what better today. The dr increased my meds and hopefully they are starting to kick in. You sure dont realise how bad depression, can be until it hits you. I had no idea, it sure has been kicking my a**. I have only smoked 3 cigs so far today. I know they arent helping. But you all inspire me to keep on trying. It helps that so many understand and still stand behind me. Now I just have to get my thoughts in control. I just hope it dosent take to long. Thanks again you are all wonderful and caring people. Cuddles

Cuddles, I too, know the emptiness of depression. You MUST claw your way through, and keep going ~ still taking one moment at a time. It only seems, TO YOU, that you don't care. But that is the depression looking out, not you. You do care, we all know that. Your words say that. You just can't see them right now...... I do understand when you say you are just so tired of being sad..... I was too. I was tired of crying, tired of being tired, tired of life, tired of sadness. I even said that I no longer felt enjoyment from my kids.... I do know that I just wanted it to stop. I just wanted to feel something other than sadness......... Anything!! It scares me to remember those days. I am on the road to recovery from my depression. If it takes my entire life to do so, then that is okay with me. I just do not want to ever feel that blackness, that emptiness, that sadness again. I am on meds now, and thankfully, the first try worked. You must feel exhausted...... Please Cuddles, take the time and find yourself again. You know that you MUST get help. Tell your doctor that you need to go beyond the meds. You must get a councelor. One that will help you see through YOUR eyes, instead of the depression. Find yourself.......... Never give up on you. You are worth it. You are here. We are here. Let us walk with you. Let us help open the doors to light your way through this journey. It's not just about not smoking. It's about finding this new life as a new person. Finding a way to look and feel again in life without addiction. It is worth the fight! Just like Lady said, I have to believe it is worth it. The work is worth it. Without hope, we have nothing. Remember that Cuddles. Without hope, there is nothing for us to reach for. Nothing for us to hold on to. Nothing. Cuddles, I understand far too well. I wish I could say that I don't but I do. It's like anything we do in life. The quit, the depression, we cannot give up. We have to keep fighting one day at a time. Everything feeds into the other. There have been a thousand times I have thought of smoking to escape the emotions that I go through. The smoking doesn't do a thing. There are times I'm really tempted to smoke just to stop all the pain you described. It is one of the worse things I have ever experienced. You have to stand up Cuddles. You cannot give up on yourself. YOU are too important. Life is too important not to get through all of this. Be strong. Find the strength inside of you and hold on to it. I know it is there because I have seen it. Are you doing counseling? You need a good counselor that understands YOU. Someone who can help you change the way you see things and the way you think about things. It isn't easy Cuddles. It is heart wrenching difficult. But you have to fight the fight and you can't give up. If you give up, you won't ever feel any different than you do right now. We have hope. Hope that we can be healthy whole people and work through those things that have defined us for so long. We are not the people we once were. Consider this a transitional position in life and know that the way you feel now is only temporary. You have to ride out the storm. I have to believe it is worth it. The work is worth it. Without hope, we have nothing. Cuddles Your one of the smartest people on this site, and if you tell me you just can't take it anymore, I believe you! I know you wouldn't throw in the towel for nothing. Now...listen to your old auntdeb... "once upon a time their was a young beautiful lady with three small children. She had became umemployed through no fault of her own, and found herself in a predicament. She had to quit one of her vises so that she could buy milk for her children. She was angry at herself for feeling so selfishly arrogant that she had to give up her habit. She literally had to learn how to hate....the vise she gave up to justify her anger. Depression and self-pity set in. Her children suffered from her depression. Her poor ignorant husband had no clue of what depression or mental illness was, he was of no use! Thank God for every wakeful hour he looks over us. She still had enough sense...to get to her old family doctor. He prescribed a very mild anti-depressant that helped get her off her a-- to start doing something. Once the activity started...the adrenaline started flowing...and the feel good hormones started producing ideas. The ideas started her pencil putting plans into action. She remained smoke free, she volunteered at a local elementary school as a teacher's aid, she signed up for an adult typing refresher course, she started a new career at the local vocational school. Her outlook on life began to climb, her attitude about self and worth also changed. her little children became very proud of their new mommy. Cuddles, please make an appointment with your Doctor...we do not want to lose you. You have come to far and contributed too much to let all of this go. auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,892 Amount Saved: $365.75 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 17 Mins: 3 Seconds: 9
