It's good to hear about you 4methistime. You're the first person I've read that has a quit target date close to mine, Nov. 18 or 20 (I haven't decided whether or not I'll allow one cigarette to myself prior to the Monday when I embark on a week-long vacation with family - out of familiar surroundings and regular schedule). You already know that quiting can be a roller-coaster - but that is not indicative of failure. As someone posted on this site (and I wish I could remember who), don't quit the quit. The first time I was successful of quiting smoking for 11 years, it took quite a while to finalize. I figure that if I could have done it for 11 years that I can be a non-smoker for at least 11 more years, if I can get over the hump. My husband doesn't smoke. Your wife, may be successful in her quit or may have trouble with it (though I wish her well). I liked your sign-in name "4methistime". You have the force - May the force be with you. Just like that inspiring footprints poem "those are the times that I carried you", you and your wife are in a position to help each other. Please keep on line since you're the closest I have to a quit'n budy.

4me, Good name and good sentiment. I, too, have been on this site in the past and it helps tremendously, doesn't it? Coincidentally, my last quit was right at the end of 2005, I had a three month quit, and then picked one up. IT NEVER WORKS! I quit just about 1 month ago. Well, let's do it again and this time make it stick! "I remember...I had a different screen name. Changed it to protect the not-so-innocent! How long did your last quit last and when did your wife quit? Congratulations! We will be here for you along the way! " I was quit for about 3 months and have been back to smoking for about 6+/-. My wife has been quit for about 3 months now. It is really important for her due to health concerns (beyond that of other smokers). She is always very patient and supportive of me but I still don't like being grouchy to her and our kids. I have high hopes for the wellbutrin to help with the moods :) Thank you all for your support. I will indeed keep coming back. This forum was such a help to me last time and, of course, when I went back to smoking I gave this up immediately. I do not intend to let that happen again. O.K. I have gone back to smoking after mounting, what I thought was, a pretty good quit. I had a fear that my wife still smoking might be a problem. I won't blame anyone but myself, but with her now quit for a couple months it will be nice to throw out the smokes and paraphernalia. I start wellbutrin tomorrow and plan to quit 11/22. I have the confidence, the tools and less temptations in my face. This forum was a HUGE help to me on my last attempt...and I'll need you all to help me again. Thanks in advance. It's good to be back. 4me, Welcome back and good for you for jumping back in there. It is a great idea to be prepared and I am sure your wife will lend some support as well :) We are always here for support and knowledge so don't hesitate to post! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
