Just a slap your forehead moment...

18 years ago 0 87 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi everyone. Hope you all have had a great Christmas. I'm doing better since I got home before the winds began to blow. My forehead slapping moment came when I realized I had forgotten to put on my patch before leaving the house to drive to Terre Haute, Indiana to celebrate Christmas with the rest of my family. I didn't cave. A couple of times I caught a whiff of cigarette smoke and I had to clamp down even tighter on myself and kept busy with the grandkids. I had Kathy slap one on my back the minute we got home and breathed a huge sigh of relief. I'm finishing up day 4. I'm nowhere near being able to come off from them. I'm not entertaining that for a good while. I'm just relieved I got through it. Grateful. Very grateful. Another nice thing was to be able to come in here to read and post. I really feel like I'm home here. I owe that to you all. Merry Christmas everyone. :)Pat. Thanks, everyone. I am putting a few pieces of nicotine gum in my purse just in case I subconsciously(?) set myself up to smack myself again! I don't think thats what happened this time, though. I think I just got caught up in all the holiday phone calls I was getting before I left and wound up in a rush. The point is I made it through. I forgot to mention something else I thought about in dealing with this. I thought of you all going through the same holiday as me and coming through without caving as well. If all of you can do it, then so can I. We travel this road together no matter where we are in the world. Good night my friends. :)Pat. Way to get through a tough one t-tin....I always had an extra patch in purse at all times... Near the end, I looked in the cupboard and couldn't figure out where all my patches were and then discovered about 4 in my purse (I guess I was a little over-cautious!) ttin, A big slap on the back for you my friend. You came through a very tough situation so early in your quit ! that is very impressive. Keep up the good work, and 2007 is going to be a great year for you.
