Hi Niks after reading this thread I can now understand your post on my thread. I am enclosing something for you to look at, it may or may not be of some insight to you: ATTITUDE DETERMINES ALTITUDE I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have. Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the grass is getting watered for free. Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste. Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive. Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born. Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses. Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships. Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do. I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new tidbits of knowledge. Today I can murmur dejectedly because I have to do housework or I can feel honored because the Lord has provided shelter for my mind, body and soul. Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped. And here I am, the sculptor who gets to do the shaping. With God's help, what today will be like is up to me. I get to choose what kind of day I will have. -- Joey Lake It's all about you kid never forget you are in control and you have choices to make. You have received a ton of information from fellow members. Pick and choose what is good for you and then just do it but don't smoke, you will only choke. Hi Niks, Sure sounds like you are on the right track and realize that junkie thoughts are nothing but quit busters. Emotional rollercoasters are the hardest times for keeping smoke free, but YOU can do it. Just remember that your quit is yours and no one elses. And dont smoke he isnt worth it. Call out when you us. Hugs to you. Not cravin', never cavin'. ~huggs~ I'm very proud of you for staying strong right now niks! Relationships take alot out of us sometimes. I'm glad you were able to see that a broken relationship doesn't have to be followed by a broken quit. Time really does heal...in both cases here. Make sure you are real gentle with yourself right now! ~lbugg~ oh...and way to go on those beautiful 3 weeks! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 474 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25,129 Amount Saved: $3128.4 Life Gained: Days: 46 Hrs: 4 Mins: 25 Seconds: 11

We didn't save your quit niks! You did! You made all the right choices...it started with deciding to post here! ~huggs~ be proud of yourself! It's important that you reward yourself for getting through this rough spot smoke=free! Think of something nice..it can be as simple as a CD you've been wanting, or some new bubble bath (as long as you use it!). Niks, Day 23 and look at all you have conquered! You made it through the two toughest weeks of quitting, through a weekend full of triggers and temptation and now a break up. ALL WITHOUT SMOKING! You are also at the time in your quit when you will be moving into some of the deeper issues in quitting. The emotional ones. If there is a silver lining it is that you are moving into a new phase of your life and doing it fully present. No smoke screen, no chemicals to dull or distract but you will be meeting a whole new aspect of yourself. I'm sorry for the sadness right now but I know you will come out on top. I have the feeling you will have some very healthy revelations that will come out of all this and you'll remain smoke-free! Much as we like to hear other people's stories, this one is about you and the predicament that you currently find yourself in. You appear to have grasped the rules of the game and you have told yourself that smoking at this time will not help you with your emotional distress. Hang tough niks and don't smoke; see it through. Ladybugg is so right, time will heal both and you will conquer the weed and be a winner in love too. Just believe in your future and appreciate what you are doing for yourself by not smoking. Grit your teeth, you can do this! All The Best Penitent d777
