Wow - congratulations on not blowing it! You really should be proud after being that close and hanging on. Aww Maddie ...*Hugs* Do you really think that you deserve to smell bad, feel bad, cough, loose oxygen to your extemeties, and have to go through the aweful hell week once again? Do you really deserve that? I don't know you, but i'm betting that you deserve far better. Can you get out and have a walk? Oh and BTW - you won't loose that weight if you smoke.. you'll just be a fat smoker. been there, done that. It sounds to me like you have been using food for the same things that you were once using cigarettes for - to fill an emptyness inside. I'm not being judgemental at all - i'm doing the exact same thing. I've been using this as an oportunity to learn to love myself, and learn to know myself really. Maybe just start scheduling a walk every day.. and buy yourslef a new pair of walking shoes. ;) Everything is going to be OK. Maddie, quick tear that pack of cigarettes apart, throw them in the toilet and flush them right now. Did you do it ? Come on chin up, you're angry at someone, don't turn on yourself how's that going to help if you smoke, you'll hate yourself and you'll still be angry at that person, even if you smoke the weight is not going to go away. Now breathe in and breathe out, take a long bubble bath, light some candles and think this over. You have some great stats there, don't blow it in smoke, it's not worth it, you come first. Come back and tell me how're you're doing, I'm here Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,138 Amount Saved: $300 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 0 Mins: 5 Seconds: 47

I'm sooo proud of you and you should be too. Glad you were strong and glad your family was there to help you. I agree that we cannot be complacent in our quits. It will be an ongoing struggle for quite awhile, but I do look forward to the day when I seldom think of it. Hang tough and eat some more chocalate, you deserve it!! d2Q My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/29/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 78 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,572 Amount Saved: $234 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 6 Mins: 33 Seconds: 5

I didn't, but it was the worse craves I've had since hell week. As I cruise up to a 10 month quit...and can nearly see my 1 year anniversary ahead of me, I felt pretty confident in my quit. Enough so that smokers around me was no longer troubling. Well, that theory was blown out of the water this weekend. I was around a lot of smokers (couldn't be helped) of which a number of them smoked clove cigarettes. I used to smoke cloves cigs and hate the smell of "regular" cigs. I very nearly asked several cloves smokers if I could bum a cig. Since none of these people knew me, the chances of them giving me one was pretty good. That scared the hell out of me. My friends and family found me crying in a corner and shaking like a leaf. Good support system that they are, they immediately administered lots of chocolate as a reward for not smoking. If truth be told, I felt guilty about the chocolate. I felt like I certainly didn't deserve a reward for nearly screwing up. Yes, I know I didn't, but I felt miserable about coming so close to smoking. I think it was the second hand smoke. I know I got a couple of snoot fulls of smoke over the course of the weekend, and I think that little bit of nicotine started up the dopamine craves. A second hand wiff or two has never quite effected me like that before. What few cravings I have are far and few between...and only last all of about 20 seconds...if that. This was quite different. Don't become complacent in your quit...ever. For the rest of my life I will always be a puff away from a pack a day. Kiss my big fat butt Nic!! I'm onto you and your incideous ways.
