Shaz: Everybody's quit is a bit different, so it is hard to tell if it is withdrawals or side-effect of the Zyban. If the spasms continue or get worse, you should call your Dr.. You might want to do a search on the side effects of the zyban(?) Congratulations on the six days! That is awesome! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,433 Amount Saved: $224 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 22 Mins: 47 Seconds: 14

Shazza, Start reading through our forums, there are many threads out there on how to cope with cravings and other triggers. You'll see your bag will fill up quickly. To get you started: For cravings try chewing gum, sucking on candy, sucking/holding a straw, chewing on a toothpick, drinking tall glasses of ice water or taking a few slow deep breaths. You can also try distracting yourself with anything that will keep your mind or body occupied. Our members do use SSC messenger pretty frequently. Keep in mind weekends are typically slower because everybody's out there enjoying their smoke free lives. Members should be along shortly to let you know when they are on. HI Sharon, Take very loving and gentle care of YOU right now... the changes at the beginning can be like night and day, so stay in the moment, and stay grounded on taking care of your needs right now... AND one need may be to reach out and ask for support... Building a big toolbox of coping skills will come in handy, so read old posts here, friend... I am sending you words of encouragement for what you have done and are doing moving forward. This is no easy feat as you know. Yet, it manageable as long as we are prepared. Stay ahead of the curve by staying on top of the situation. Be ready for any obstacles that might pop up. Keep adding to the bag of coping tools for success. Shazza, Welcome to our community and congrats on 6 days! You are almost finished "hell week" and this is commendable. Take the time to prepare yourself and let us guide you through :) You body is detoxing and you need to relax yourself. Every quit is different and your symptoms may last longer than others. If something persists, take the time to check with your doctor to rule out anything medical. Also check with your doctor and pharmacist regarding dosages and side effects. Post often, we can help! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
