Tsikos, i remember having a hard time around then. Cravings and triggers are very normal. How long did you smoke? You can't expect an addiction that lasted for years to go away in a month. Don't forget to reward yourself. I remember some of mine started as a trigger, and dwelt in it. Until I was craving hard core.Someone wrote that cravings can be brought on by H.A.L.T.(I think that is what, let see if I can remember.) H-hungry A- L-lonely T-tired.. I think a was angry.. Let me see if I can find it. Hang in there. Tsikos, Like everyone said, it does get better. Are you focusing on your cravings? That might be the reason you feel as if it is getting worse. When you give power to the thought of smoking, it can overwhelm you. Take that power back. Change you thoughts. Force yourself if you have to. Try some relaxation. Hot tea, a relaxation CD, yoga, or just plain old relaxing on the couch. There are a number of ways to help you come back down. But, you have to change your focus. I found hypnosis cd's were helpful for me. I popped them into my cd player, and put on my headphones, and relaxed on the couch while I listened to them. Nicodemon will try anything. He is on his last leg, and still trying to take over. Do not let him. Shut him out of your mind........... Reward yourself for your 25 days quit. You are well on your way!!! Never give in. Hi tsikos - Hold on very tight... You are in the beginning of your Quit, so please be patient with yourself, dear one... Take this time to build more and more coping skills and for craves, get into some good distrations - they will take the power away from any crave!! I did some mall walking - which helped me along with the shakey feelings - and meditation soft music - anything to soothe the soul will work. Don't focus on the crave... you are giving it power when you do. Just ride it like a wave, and as the clock ticks, the crave will disappear... You're doing beautifully...hold on! Tiskos... Don't let those cravings discourage you. It gets so much better. Everyone is different so there isn't a magical day # when the world is a happy place again. Sorry. One thing I said early in my quit was.... When I smoked, I wanted a cigarette all of the time, now that I don't, I only want one some of the time. You are getting there. One day at a time. remember they're only cravings and they will pass - they only last a few minutes. dont panic over them. keep your mind off them by being busy or doing something different. ann My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 95 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,334 Amount Saved: 408.5 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 8 Mins: 18 Seconds: 10

Hi tsikos, Hopefully by now your craving is long gone. I'll just add one thing to the suggestions you've already been given... We tend to metabolize differently after we've stopped smoking. Your shakiness could be caused by lower than normal blood sugar (have a glass of orange juice or even some crackers) or caffiene (reduce your intake). Not feeling our best can in turn, cause a craving since smoking is how we often consoled ourselves. No matter the cause for the crave though, you simply need to short circuit your thinking process and re-train it to think of something else. It might take a little practice but each time you do it, you've made great progress. Keep hanging tough :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 625 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,512 Amount Saved: $2231.25 Life Gained: Days: 66 Hrs: 5 Mins: 43 Seconds: 10
