The monster got me

Sparky, You are an addict with addictive thinking. I can't do this, I give up, I'll try again latter. WRONG ANSWER! Get ticked off at the addiction that controls your life! Kiss the cigarettes good bye and tell them there is no way they are going to run your life anymore. Don't wait 15 more days to quit. 15 days could turn into 15 years. What if that next cigarette you smoke is the one that leads to lung cancer? Think about it. You have to be determined to quit. Take it five minutes at a time and do not give up for any reason. You quit for 2 weeks, you can quit for forever. Each crave you get through makes you that much stronger for the next one. I'm sorry that you are giving up on the fight for your life so easily. You don't know what you are missing. The smoke free life is an awesome one. I hope there will come a time when you experience that for yourself. The sooner the better. Sparky, Stop fighting the monster and embrace your new life instead. Quitting is about perspective as much as it is about strength, determination, commitment and a positive attitude. A person who quits should never say "I can't have that." That is a recipe for failure. You are immediately denying yourself something you thought you did for enjoyment. You were actually just simply getting a fix. Quitters know they can smoke at any time, but choose not to. I do embrace my quit because I made the choice not to smoke anymore. I know that smoking does nothing for me other than lighten my wallet and ruin my health. I got smart. So when your new quit date rolls around, be happy it got there. You aren't missing one damn thing when you quit. Sure, your body may complain for a bit, so what? Learn to live as a non smoker. Learn how to cope with life smokefree. Smoking just killed a lot of time while it killed your lung tissue and God knows what else. Here is a favorite quote that I like to share with new quitters. [b]"May we never let the things we can't have, or don't have, or shouldn't have, spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it, for one of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have." Richard L.
