Hi Flowerpot, I should have 7 more days on my quit meter but I got really upset, my very pregnant daughter had emergency sugury on one of her kidneys. I bought and smoked a whole pack of cigarettes and it didn't do a thing to make anything any better, just made me feel like a loser. I got right back on my quit the next day and so far so good.btw daughter and baby are fine. Always remember... Failure is not falling down; it is refusing to get up! Love, Auntie :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 26 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,198 Amount Saved: $287.56 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 5 Mins: 9 Seconds: 6

Never quit quitting, learn and go from here. You at least know now that the cigarette didn't even help. Keep those thoughts in your mind. Don't be so hard on yourself but just get right back in there. Come on, we know you can do this...don't tempt yourself and go to where there are smokers and cigarettes. Good luck and we are here for you. Flowerpot, have you worked through the exercises/quit tools on the left? They're very helpful, and give you the kind of ammunition you need to hang in there when the going gets tough. You also might want to ask yourself if by taking those three puffs somewhere in the back of your head you were just looking for an excuse to throw up your hands and say "See, I can't do this!" Though going through the quitting process has physical manifestations, it's also very much a mind game. Nothing of value is easy to obtain. Ask yourself what you want in life, and then don't let anything, including that little self-destructive voice in your head that would love to keep you from succeeding, deter you from your goal. There's no reason to dwell on the mistake. Make sure in the future you know what you will do when the redhead gets under your skin, or you are upset. Handling the stress of daily life as a non-smoker is VERY different. Prepare for this and you can get through the next one without smoking. N.O.P.E. - No excuses. Get back in that quit and stay there ~ We all have stress, and we all have quits, if ya need help, c'mon over here! Flowerpot... Take some really deep breaths. Smoking doesn't help anything. Go for a walk, scream, kick, cry whatever it takes just dont' smoke. You can quit. Do not quit quitting. You haven't blown anything. Quitting is tough stuff but you can do it! Don't give up on yourself. One step at a time. Oh well - you live and you learn. You say your stupid, only if you continue. If you learn from this mistake/setback and go forward with your quit then you are truely a smart person. What's it gonna be? PS - Lighten up on yourself - quitting is tough. See my numbers? They should have another 5 days on them but I too had a slip way back when. I got through it and have never looked back.
