Scara, Welcome and please remember to BREATHE! The patch does not stop the mental craving, it only helps lessen the physical addiction so you can focus on crushing the "habit" part. I can remember being on the phone with a clean ash tray (mutually exclusive terms, though) and hanging up seeing at least 8 butts I DIDNT KNOW I'D SMOKED in the tray. I call that straight up habit. And I read someones signature that says it's better to be a non smoker with an occasional desire to smoke than a smoker with a constant desire to quit. That is SO true. I've certainly wanted to quit for longer than I wanted to smoke, so lets do this together, we can and we are! 10:30am ast Thanks to EVERYONE who left such amazing words of encouragement! I really needed that boost, thanks again! So I started today with a nice hot shower and slapped on the old patch, now I am watching morning tv, boiling an egg and planning my day ahead. I have to say, this is hard! I want my morning smoke! haha, this totally blows, when is this patch gonna kick in!!! I'm gonna start licking it soon! haha, it's all good, it'll pass. :) I'm sure that I will be popping in and posting throughout the day, so you are forewarned lol. cheers everone! Thanks everyone! Man, i love this place, everyone is so great!! So, I've been tryng to keep busy but my head is POUNDING! and my teeth hurt! I've walked to the grocery store and back and been drinking tons of water. I've told the hubby that he is not going to be able to smoke in the house for the first couple of days and he has graciously agreed. I've also started my new diet today as well, so I will be joining you all on that thread too! So I'm not sure if my headaches are from not smoking or from not eating enough. I think it's the not smoking. Isn't the patch supposed to stop the cravings? Is it just not working? ARGH!
