Hi Phil just sneaking in at work... for me going down on the patch, was difficult, from 21 to 14 hard... from 14 to 7 less hard... from 7 to nothing way easier but felt edgy for a week or so, chewed a lot of cinnamon gum. But it's all behing me now and you can do it also, you're going from 5mg to nothing even better. One day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 132 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,989 Amount Saved: $528 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 11 Mins: 40 Seconds: 24

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Phil, I was on patches for 11 weeks. I found no significant difference in reducing the dosage. The most surprising thing was when I went from 7mg to zero. I hardly noticed a thing. Just my experience of course Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 252 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,579 Amount Saved: 1890 Life Gained: Days: 42 Hrs: 2 Mins: 52 Seconds: 22

Hi Phil I'm doing cold turkey this time round but on a previous quit i used patches. I also got them on perscription from the doctor so I just paid the price of perscription but it may be too late for you to know this. Anyway, when I came off the patches finally I did find that my cravings did go up but not sure if this was psychological or physical. I had some nicotine gum on hand but only felt the need to take a couple of pieces. I did find that a bar of chocolate helped once in a while. Hope it wont be too hard for you but you seem very determined and and strong. You also know where to come if those heebie jeebies are looming. All the best Sharon

Hi Phil, For 2 or 3 days after I came off the 7mg patch (4 weeks), I had a very minor increase in thoughts of smoking. After everything you go through in the beginning, it was a piece of cake. It was also a huge relief to no longer have to apply them every day and pay for them too. What a great step to total freedom. Be sure to let us know so we can help you celebrate going naked :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 628 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,578 Amount Saved: $2241.96 Life Gained: Days: 66 Hrs: 14 Mins: 5 Seconds: 52
