Hi, Dave. Sorry I missed this thread. Glad to see you (and a group!) taking the plunge into freedom. :) The chemistry of chew and dip will be different than the smoke because some of the chemicals in smoke are the result of the burning process. But either way, they are both nasty. Ohhh, how I would have bristled at that remark a year and a half ago, LOL. You choose your quit date. If you want to mark the date of your last tobacco, or if you want to mark the first date of tobacco freedom, it's whatever works best for you. (and you can change it later if you want) Infinite_D, a great chew/dip quitter, used sunflower seeds, as I did. I think between the two of us we probably help put a ConAgra exectuive's kid through college! ;) Congratulations on 15 tobacco-free hours, Dave. Stay close and don't feel you're restricted to this forum. There's a ton of info and support all over this site. Keep up the good quit! I love the carburetor fluid idea. You were wise to know how tempting it would be. I had to go through my trash can and burn all of the butts in the woodstove. As we do not have garbage collection here on this little island, and we save up bags until we take them in ourselves, I just KNEW one day I would be out there going through the tied up bags. Oh oh what a disgusting addiction, and how nice to be free. Haven't heard from you in awhile - hope you are still doing okay. Sometimes the times after the first adrenalin rush can be the hardest.....
