Crikey Dave I never appreciated how addictive chewing could be but I am a bit stupid sometimes.I dont think I know anyone who chews dont think it happens much in the UK. I am getting the smoke out of my system but like you I am terrified of the dentist! Perhaps we should start a new site on eliminating Dental fear!!! I think I would be taking help not giving............... Dave, With each and every passing day i can assure you it WILL get easier and easier. Stay focused on why you are doing this. You should be really proud of yourself Dave. I hope your wife and friends are staying strong also. Im at day 65 (i was a smoker) and i dont have the urge to smoke at all, i havnt for some weeks now and yes, i found it was more of a "got to get this right in my head" kinda challenge more than the physical withdrawls. I have a very easy quit. Just one more will lead to another then another and you will be right back where you started. Stay Strong Dave Keep us posted on how you are going :) PrincessC :) x

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hello, I'm just dropping a quick note to say that my wife and I are staying strong! The temptations are getting weaker yet there are still ctimes when I could still go for a nice treat. I think tonight I'll go for a nice long run and get a natural high :)

Hi Phil, I was told that one chew is equal to about 4 cigarettes. At 5 chews a day, that added up to a lot of nicotine intake! I've past my one week anniversary and still going strong. I still have cravings but it is easier now to make it through the day without thinking about having a chew. I agree about the dentist's forum...there has to be others like us that just need a good push to check into the dentist's office! Dave

Thanks PrincessC, I appreciate your support! I still have some urges for a chew but the longer I wait this out, the easier I'm sure it will be. How long before the urges are totally gone? I suppose that it varies person-to-person and I'm sure that the mental habit will be the hardest to overcome. All I know is that for as much as I'd like "just one more", I certainly don't want to start over. Gotta run, DC
