Oh, BTW, I was wondering...do you live in Aruba, or is that your dream destination? Just curious! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 77 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,894 Amount Saved: $616 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 0 Mins: 18 Seconds: 53

Aruba--- You sound like me in a previous quit. I quit once about ten years ago for four months solid. However, for the two months I was in the process of "quitting" I slipped several times throughout the "quit" process. Not that it was completely unsuccessful...I learned quite a bit...like NOPE. I did manage to pull myself up after the "slips" and stayed "clean" for four months, and that in itself was a success!!! I did go back to smoking and am trying again now. I had a minor slip this time too, but the fact that you get back up is what is important. Good luck, keep in touch! Wishing you all the best...TRULY!!! :)

Aruba, Cutting down is great prep for your final quit! Start working through the program and come up with your quit plan. Learn about your addiction, cravings and ways to get around them. Here's an example of a member' prep prior to her quit: click here Keep us posted, Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Aruba, You've experienced a slip. Learn from it and keep going! Take a step back and try to identify any weaknesses in your quit plan. Preparation is key. If you haven't already, take advantage of our program. (Left side of your screen under program tools) You can also talk to your doctor or pharmacist about whether using an NRT is right for you. Lastly, keep reading through our forums! There's lots of information out there on smoking cessation. Knowledge is power! Try to focus on withdrawal symptoms and coping with cravings. Keep persevering! You can do this! Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Aruba2006, Welcome to the SSC and congratulations on deciding to quit! Take some time to navigate through our forums and work through our program, located on the left of your screen. Start devising an attack plan for cravings. You'll also need a reward system and a list of distractions to get you through the coming weeks. Click here Even though you won't be taking a break to go smoke, take a break to reward yourself for your first five hours. Do something else on your break, like get a cup of coffee. Break your normal routine and replace that cigarette with something else. We are always here to help if you have any questions. Stay close and keep us posted! Danielle _________________________ The SSC Support Team
