 Formally hurstk...should be at about 91 days. Golly, I am soooooooo disappointed in myself. I had such a good quit going! N-E-ways...I goofed big-time! That was not thunder you heard last week...that was my fat a$$ falling off of the wagon! :( That is why I have not been on. I bought a pack, ripped off my patch and smoked the whole thing in 24 hours. Afterwards the guilt crept in........but old Nicko was triumphant and I bought another. This time (the junkie thinking) was able to maintain three a day. Set a new quit date for the 23rd--when I SHOULD have been celebrating 3 months  Hubby knows, kids know...what a downer.... BUT...I AM BACK; AND DETERMINED TO MAKE THIS THE QUIT OF ALL QUITS!!I NEED YOUR HELP, MY FRIENDS!!! I plastered back on a 7 mg patch, that seems to be doing the trick; engaging in yoga and am giving myself another week on the 7 mg patch before calling it a true quit. I really had alot going on, but I am okay now...I think!?!

Today's quote REALLY spoke to me! Thanks for the welcome (again) :) The past week of smoking wasn't wasted. Out of guilt I bought and read Allen Carr's book, so I believe my mindset is better. BTW, I missed you guys :)... I went to another site and was going to start again there, but they were NO FUN at all!!! :| Kisses and hugs to all XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO!!! Gonnadoit, We are happy to hear you've set your quit date! We can't wait to celebrate your first smoke free day! Don't be too hard on yourself, learn from this experience and let it strengthen your quit plan! What led to your slip? How will you avoid this in the future? Were your rewarding yourself? I must advise you to discontinue your use of the patch while smoking, you are putting yourself at risk for nicotine overdose. Why not take the patch off and use this as your time to practice and try out new strategies to fight cravings? Instead of picking up a cigarette, drink a big glass of water. If the urge passes, then you know this would be a good strategy, if not try something else next craving. This would be a great way to really determine what's best for you. You could also start cutting down by leaving your cigarettes at home when going out or only taking a set number instead of the whole pack. Hope this helps, Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Welcome back. Glad you are getting back on the wagon and giving another ride. Learn from your smoking and find out what you really need. Keep on posting and work the tools you find on the left. Read here and look at what has happened with all of the quitters who have used this site. Most important, call out for help right here if you think you are going to smoke and wait for some response. There are quitters here on this sit almost all hours. Again welcome back and I look forward to hearing how you are doing. Gonna Good for you for deciding to move off the NRT's. As a fellow cold turkey you have an awesome time (your seven days) to gather a great set of coping mechanisms. First to deal with the nicotine and then a second set of coping mechanisms to deal with all of the other stuff, the emotions and whatever else comes up. Keep on keeping on and keep on letting us know how you are doing. Hey Hurstk, I have been on vacation for 9 days, came back and wondered where the heck you were. The May company was not the same without your wit! Well, I have relapsed sooooo many times that I lost count. Not a fun experience. We all work towards that blessed "forever quit". I just hit 3 months today and I have been craving a smoke more than usual. But, NOPE!!! Right. It is the only way that we can quit. YOu can do this. Your relapse was just a little hiccup on your road to success. Life is so much more enjoyable without the chain of nicotine addiction around our brains.. you are GONNADOIT!
