What I Want To Remember

NGH I almost missed this one!! A month ago I struggled and struggled and struggled! Last week I had to take a course of fairly strong antibiotics(nothing smoking related I had an abscess in a fairly painful place) and the tablets really depressed me.I wasnt sure whether it was the tablets or the lack of old nic that was getting to me but I felt B awful. The effect of the tablets has worn off today and I feel great cant stop whistling and singing driving everyone crazy around me!! I feel I have gone from being supported by the group to providing support to the group. Its a great feeling just you wait and see!!! Phil(UK)

Me sitting on the couch at 8 am with a brand new pack of smokes. Me sitting on the couch at 9:30 am that same day with three cigarettes left in that pack and me feeling nauseous and gassy, and then me throwing up. The junkie is no longer funny, savvy, and sophisticated. I am just sick, sick, sick of it. I sat on the couch and cried like I was just a victim of the junkie, until I got a grip and realized that I do not have to smoke. It is a choice. Now I did not choose to be an addict, but I do choose whether to smoke. I take full responsibility for my slip and, frankly, I don't feel all that bad about having done so. Now I know what reinforcements I need. However, I am such an addict that I absolutely must not smoke. I also decided to eventually refer to myself as a recovering smoker--not a nonsmoker. This time, I think I'm taking the tact of letting a lot of my strength come from within. My alzheimer friend is back, but we are going to take a long break from each other and do what we have to do. Her family will take care of her, I hope, and I have a number of issues to resolve. I think all will be fine. But thank you Princess. My dear friend BGH, How is your quit? I read your post, replied, deleted the reply, read it again, replied, deleted it again.... I just couldnt find the words that i needed to say to you. When i think of you, all i can think of is how much inner strength you have and how much you cant see it. I want you to remember that 6 days ago, you slipped but you didnt fall. I want you to remember that smoking will NOT solve world peace, smoking will NOT make anything better EVER and i want you to remember that you can NEVER take one puff EVER. I want you to remember that you are worth fighting for and i know how difficult this quit has been for you and want to help you get through this i want to help you find solutions so you can and will remain smoke free. Believe in yourself BGH, i believe in you.... and i care. PrincessC :) x
