Make time to be good to yourself. I'm such a supporter of rewarding yourself. Cut yourself some slack and know that your body is going through withdrawals so take a nap if you want, no harm in that right? Good luck_ fight to stay smoke free!! Shannon, There are many who experience being tired and sleep a lot early in the quit. Quitting had the opposite affect on me. I couldn't sleep and still sleep less than I use to. Hang in there, in time this all passes and you will feel back to normal. Congratulations on your decision to quit. This is a great site for support. Shannon, you should download the SSC Instant Messenger if you'd like some real-time support. The tiredness is a symptom of nicotine withdrawal for some people. Others get all hyper. It just depends on you. It does pass, Shannon. Patience is a big plus in quitting. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 454 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,095 Amount Saved: $1725.2 Life Gained: Days: 84 Hrs: 18 Mins: 44 Seconds: 21

I slept and sobbed my way through week one. As far as I can tell, almost ANYTHING is normal for withdrawal. Stay with it...this is sooo worth it. Shannon, I responded to you on the "Coping with Day One" thread. I hope you are very proud of yourself for getting through a whole day. That is a very big step! You are absolutely allowed to rest and take care of yourself while you go through this quitting process. Tomorrow, I'm going to write "Coping with Day Two" just for you (and anyone else who needs it, of course.) Rusty :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 614 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 17,217 Amount Saved: $2149 Life Gained: Days: 84 Hrs: 13 Mins: 58 Seconds: 26

Shannon, What you are feeling is normal. Many of our members have been through this and know that it is ok to relax yourself and take some you time. Avoid situations that will tempt you and always have those coping mechanisms ready. Let us guide you through :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
