Hi Elaine, I also did nothing but sleep. I didn't use anything, cold turkey. The sleeping was my resque I think. I went to bed at 9 pm and slept sometimes 12 hours in a row. I felt good though. I think that due to smoking our body is full of poison and bad things. That needs to get out. Anyway, I'm rested now ;) I feel great and have little problems and almost no cravings. I've smoked for almost 40 years and 25 cigarets a day. I'm HAPPY :p :) Love Fini :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 86 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,152 Amount Saved: 253.7 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 20 Mins: 12 Seconds: 44

I found in the first week of my quit that i slept a lot as well. I put it down to my body dealing with the withdrawl, but also as a subconscious way of me not smoking...because i never did in bed! Will be nothing to worry about...enjoy it while it lasts! Sleeping can become more difficult the further you are into your quit kolativey My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 186 Amount Saved: 75 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 9 Mins: 43 Seconds: 11

Great Job with your quit! I am encourging you to keep going, you can do it and it is worth it. I also felt so sleepy around my second week. I am starting to get my energy back slowly. Hi elaine - Sleeping can be so normal... I slept a lot, and I mean alot at the beginning of my Quit, so not to worry. Your body is healing and resting, so sleep as much as you can, dear one. Make sure to show your meter when you post :) You are doing great!!! Have a great week! I was afraid I was going to sleep 12 hours a day for the rest of my life... and considering the fact that I have a full time job, go to school full time, and I'm a single Mom, it presented a serious problem for me. It lasted(I hate to report) about 2 months. It seemed to go hand in hand with depression and whining for me ;-). But.. this is a big but.. I now wake up every morning at 5:30 after usually going to bed between 11:00 and midnight. It seems to have shifted to needing less sleep, I'm not depressed, and only periodically whiney :-). This appears to be "normal" for many quitters but you can get through it. It did cost me one C on my never ending report card, but hey, I haven't smoked in almost 5 months now! So.. hang in there, have faith, it really will end. I promise! Remember N.O.P.E!! Hi Elaine, Sleep as much as you want right now. As healer said, your body is healing. You are going through a MAJOR change in your life. Take it a little easier than normal. Let some of the trivial details of life slide right now to take care of your quit. I was thankful to sleep in the beginning of my quit because I couldn't know that I was craving when I was asleep! You are doing great with 4 days smoke free. The first week is called Hell week for a reason. I say sleep it away if you can!! HA!
