I understand and have meet those type of individuals Coreen and I don't know why people act that way but some are just a stick in the mud type of people .. you know snoodie type of people like they are so innocent and can't relate and the first one to get involved in any mischief oh well .. lol .. Some of us are more normal than others.. lol.. I know I am the same although i would perfer to be around non smokers now .. but again .. i ask .. NOW THAT I STOP SMOKING WHERE IN THE HECK ARE THE NON SMOKERS.. LOL People are people I will not be their judge or jury especially when I have done or is doing what they are doing or done...I will be supportive just as many where with me... maybe one day we will all have fresh air to breath. Hi Jim, Or you can get out of their face while they are smoking. If you know they smoke and it bothers you .. step .. you don't have to go around them at all and there is nothing anyone can do about the after smell of the current smoker just keep your own air freshner.. scented candles and whatever order killers you can around your desk at work. But if you friends smoke and it bothers you .. just don't be in there face or around them. I always have believe that shoot smokers have rights too .. and yes I am now a non smoker but I still say they too have rights... they are people and human also .. and it is there right to smoke no matter what the circumstances are.. if that is what one chooses to do so be it. Excellent Marie, At this point I would not allow anyone to smoke in my house either. But I would not go anywhere else and place my demands just because I have chosen not to be something that I was. So I couldn't blame you on that. I will not have ash trays around either that will even have an indication that a smoker can smoke in my house and if they ask i would tell them no not in my house but they are welcome to go outside if they like i have breathing problems which is a nice and healthy way of letting them no they can't smoke in my domain. Hi Correen, I know what you mean. I made the mistake myself. After a few days of not smoking I tried to convince people how great it was and all. WRONG !!! Although I didn't mean it in a bad way but smokers just don't want anyone to tell them how bad smoking is. Thank God I came to my senses. Now I am happy that I don't smoke and I let the smokers smoke and say nothing about it. I'm glad that I don't have to do it anymore. Have a nice day. :)FINI :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 114 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,856 Amount Saved: 336.3 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 17 Mins: 15 Seconds: 16

Good morning. I don't allow smoking in my house, not much difference because before I quit, smoking was outside or in the garage in the winter. My hubby built a addition to the house sort of a summer porch I use to smoke there but no smoking allowed anymore. My smoker friends came over and smoked on the patio, they respected our decision. They even told us they will both quit smoking before september......how great is that? They are now the only smokers in the group. I would also like to say that it was those 'judgemental' dont smoke ex smokers or even worse social smokers, that really helped me to quit. For good. So I thank all of those judgemental ex smokers, as if they were not so disgusted with my habit, then I might still be smoking now. Its not a bad thing, they made me disgusted with it too, which really did help my quit My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,070 Amount Saved: 315 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 18 Mins: 33 Seconds: 4

This is going to sound bad. But when I am around smokers, I just think WHEN are they going to quit? Well they will soon. It doesnt particularly bother me. Except when I am out on a weekend celebrating, then i almost on auto pilot want to smoke too. Other than that i do look on in mild amusement. BUt the strange thing is that almost all smokers want to quit, or at least they say that they do. So if I talk about my quit, they are all really impressed and say that they want to too. But maybe they are being polite i dont know. I'm really trying my hardest not to be one of "those" ex smokers. I even let my friends smoke in my house when they come over to visit. Know what I've noticed? Most of them have voluntarily gone out on the balcony for most of their cigarettes. It's like a mutual respect thing. There are a few things I know I won't be able to handle. No more eating in smoking sections (we still have them here in NH). I still crave very badly after I eat, and seeing someone light up right then might be too much for me. And I can't go to a bar. :( I just turned 21 last week, and I can't even enjoy it, because smoking is still allowed in bars here, and drinking is a storong trigger for me. For now, I will just avoid situations that may turn me into one of "Those" ex smokers. But I will always try my hardest to remember what it was like to be on the other side of those comments. We all have a choice as to whether we smoke or don't smoke. I choose to not smoke that is my right. Someone else may choose to smoke and that is their right. What they choose is their business. I do not have any desire within me to go up and chastise anyone because they smoke. I do not see the point in it at all. I remember people saying things to me when I smoked; complete strangers coming up to me and telling me what I should and shouldn't be doing. It was ridiculous then and & I think it is ridiculous now. People would get more results by trying to change a law than by trying to change an addict that does not want to change. However I did not got through all of this to now breath in second hand smoke. No thank you. And I won't. I can be around people smoking and I have no desire to join them. But I do not want to be in an enclosed area where smoking is going on. I've worked too hard to inhale anymore of that poison.
