Kay, Yes, I was hypnotized. My husband and I were hypnotized together. I remanin quit, he does not. However, I give the fact that I was hypnotized to part of my sucess. Same to my hubbys ~ he lost his quit in Laughlin (drinking, well of course smoking goes along with that!) But he was 3 weeks into his quit. Let me explain. I decided to go along with my hubby on this quit thing for him. I knew if he quit, his hacking cough that kept me awake all night would go away. I wanted to get some sleep........ So I went with him to be hypnotized. I still had no intention of staying quit. However, by my 2nd or 3rd day, I found the SSC. That changed my life. I found oodles of info and support, and here I am now. The hypnosis part played a huge part of my quit though. It helped me get through my cravings without losing my mind. It really helped keep me calm (in the beginning) with any cravings. I didn't lash out at hubby or the kids. I bought the CD that the hypnotist recommended. I listened to it for 3 weeks. It truely helped me get through it. I would recommend it. I have known 2 other people who quit using hypnosis. They still remain quit after several years!!! You have to be open to the idea of someone controlling your mind though. If not, you wont allow yourself to be hypnotized. It is not a magic solution though. They'll likely be along soon to reply. I think anything you truely believe will help you to quit- WILL help you. Hi Kaydtx, You will probably find that combining the experiences of the people on this site, we have done EVERYTHING to try and stop smoking. The biggest factor is decision. In the past, I have done patches, gum, nico lozenges, hypnosis CD's, herbal pills, and a quit smoking shot. My intentions were good, but i always made the decision to smoke a cig again. This leads to smoking more cigs, until I was a full time smoker again. You have to use whatever aids you think will help you get through the initial withdrawls from nicotine; but there is no magic pill. The psychological addiction is much stronger than the physical. You have to decide not to smoke; not to smoke through stressful situations, not to smoke while out with friends, not to smoke while driving, not to smoke while on breaks at work, not to smoke after meals, etc, etc. You get the picture. It is the best decision you will ever make cause SMOKING SUCKS. It sucks the life out of us while we are sucking on them! Go for it! You can do it.
