Hey Ann, Congratulations on 11 days - you've nearly hit 2 weeks!! :) You rock! :) Have you tried NRT? It works for me. I like the microtabs. Focus on your rewards - what are they? I've got a daily reward where I put $10.00 in a tin. It makes me happy. Hang in there honey ((hugs)) Alison :) Kick the Herb to the Kerb My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 32 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 984 Amount Saved: $400 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 15 Mins: 37 Seconds: 21

Aekvall, Instead of letting your mind keep focusing on your crave, distract it! Get outside, do something active, something challenging, something fun. You can do this! You've got 11 days under your belt, let's see eleven more! Keep persevering, I know it's tough but it WILL GET EASIER! Danielle __________________________ The SSC Support Team

Aekvall, Your day sounds like something that would happen to me!!! I'm so sorry to hear of your cravings and your broken tooth. Just know that you're NOT alone and that yes, the craving will pass. No, I don't think you're suffering any worse than a lot of people. Some people just have a rougher time of the quit, it's true. I am one of those people, but I'm here smoke free and feeling the joy of the freedom and you will too. Just hang in there! Crave the Quit! Um, hold on a minute - you have a straw in your stomach? Are we talking about a piece of hay or a drinking straw? Do you need to go see a doctor? You might want to talk to your doctor about some anti anxiety drugs. It doesn't have to be like this.... Good on you for not smoking but lets not hurt ourselves huh? aekvall - What you are attempting to do is easy for some, very tough for others. There is no right way or wrong way to accomplish it. Some go cold turkey and it works. Some use NRT's, some use them longer than others. I used the patch and gum. I used 21mg patches for almost 7 weeks before I stepped down. I used 6 to 10 pieces of 4mg gum while I had the 21mg patch on. Some will say never mix NRT's, my doctor said do it. He said betweem the patch and the gum we can wean you off nicotine in 6 months. He was wrong... We did it in under a hundred days. The point is this, my doctor wasn't concerned if I was using NRT's for upwards of 6 months or longer, as long as I didn't smoke. You do whatever is right for you. Hang in there - it sounds like you are winning to me. Keep posting. We care and we want you to succeed.
