I did a stupid thing

When I was a smoker, I got this heart palpitations if I smoked a lot and drank a lot of coffee as well. So the doctor told me to quit, which I did. Then I read somewhere that aspirin can help prevent a heart attack, so I thought that I can just as well take aspirin each day and so help my heart to stay healthy. I then went to the shops and bought a box of tablets that contain aspirin and popped two each morning. One tablet contains 500mg of aspirin, so I popped 1000mg aspirin each morning. My stomach started to ache and I got a strange pain in my chest, and I went to see the doctor. After some tests and swallowing a camera I learnt I managed to get a bleeding stomach and food pipe. It is not very serious, and after giving me some meds to help, the doc told me in no uncertain terms that I should never ever again start my own kind of aspirin therapy. Raider, Glad that everything is OK! Always speak to your Doctor or pharmacist regarding dosages and side effects. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
