Catdaddy Here is an old post that may be helpful to you. Don't go bad to smoking. It is very difficult and self consuming to quit; you don't want go back and do it again. Work with wife to estabish a new quit date for her, only when she is ready; else it won't work. Don't second hand breathe that stuff. You don't want to be around that smoke. It can wear you down if you are around to much. Here is the post: I am amazed at the number of people who have quit for many, many months or years and somehow get caught up smoking again. Dont do this. Once you quit, you are quit and that is a final. You can not allow yourself to be caught up in an exceptional moment and think that having a smoke will somehow fill a void. Your assumption that, for the moment, I think it may help me, but how about the way you may feel tomorrow, about the choice. If blessed with the quit, continue with it, and be grateful that you have it. Help others to arrive at your destination and conclusion that, not to light up can be a conscious choice, not just an overwhelming habit. Catdaddy: Keep up the quit. She'll be back.... I am sure the temptation is intense at times, but I am also sure she will (should) show the utmost consideration for your quit. Keep the lines of communication open. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 53 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,671 Amount Saved: $424 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 11 Mins: 53 Seconds: 23

Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Wow, you have 527 days quit! I can't even imagine that right now. I'm sure you have your coping skills handy, right? What did you do to get all those 527 days not smoking? DO THEM NOW!! It's all about our choices, isn't it? You've chosen freedom all these days, keep chosing the freedom. And don't forget to breathe! Keep in touch, you know where we are, ok? One and a half years....I can't wait to get to that point. It was only a short time ago I was planning every day around when I couldn't smoke. I was agitated, stressed....social engagements, family, friends started to get in the way of my addiction. My house smelled, my car smelled, I smelled....I was so embarrassed when someone drove in my car. It was only a month ago that I was going through hell....couldn't think about anything else....could barely make it through the day...craving all the time. You don't want to go back there ever. You're right....it's all about you! Catdaddy, protect your quit, I'm sure you can discuss this with your wife and find a middle ground. Just don't smoke. :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 137 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,061 Amount Saved: $548 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 3 Mins: 2 Seconds: 29

Catdaddy, Time to get back to basics. Employ the same strategies you used to get you through 527 days! This is just a new challenge to overcome. You can do it! Don't forget to reward yourself for staying smoke free. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Holy cow I am having a desire to smke. My wife just restarted. I don't really crave it but want to so I can hang with my baby. At this point it's all about me.
