My latest thoughts.....Driving to work this morning seeing all those folks having their morning butts. Drinking their coffee, getting that first fix of the day. I go from feelings of great optimism, because I know I'm doing the right thing, to being really pestimistic because I missing something that was fun. I wish there was something I could replace "it" with, but I haven't come up with anything yet.
I like this sight though; just taking the time to type my thoughts is time not used smoking. To read about others with the same problems helps to keep it in perspective. To keep from thinking that my situation is unique and that's why I should have one.....
Cheers....

Keep up the good work Jtobin! The good does outweigh the bad. I have somewhat of a long commute to/from work everyday, and so driving has been the most difficult time for me (especially driving while sipping on coffee in the mornings). I have bought a ton of straws and cut them in half......it helps to keep my hands and mouth busy with something other than a cigarette.
Remember to not let the bad take over. If you want to think of the "bad", then think about all the bad things the cigarettes can cause. Hang in there, and take some time to reflect on your personal reasons for wanting the quit. You are doing great!

jtobin, don't let your thoughts romantacise the addiction. Smoking is not fun it's an addiction, it makes you cough. wheeze, smells awful, chains you to it, always thinking when are you going to get your next puff. Well here's to freedom no smoking, N.O.P.E. here's to health, and a better future for you and your family. Hope you have a great day. Do it one day at a time :)Marie
