Ok, so I quit smoking and was dealing with it not so badly. One craving at a time.
Then I got a phone call from my sister, my Mom has been hospitalized for violent behaviour (she has Alzheimer's Disease) and the home won't take her back until she settles down. She went on a rampage and injured 4 residents and 3 staff. We believe she is on too many meds and is having a drug interaction. I will be flying to see her on Monday and to meet the hospital staff on Tuesday.
As I mentioned in another post, we just got a puppy and my husband and I are disagreeing as to how to train her. He lets her bite him playfully and I say NO! So this is causing me to nag him and tell him that the dog will be confused if he lets her do anything and I and the rest of the family is saying No!
I am also living with 2 other family members that have also just quit smoking......need I say more?
I have become very irritable and keep on snapping at people, almost involuntarily. I am normally a kind, soft spoken person.
Just wanted to vent this out and in the meantime, I keep on saying N.O.P.E.
P.S. The good thing of being a non-smoker is that this time I won't be renting a hotel room when I visit my Mom. I used to do this because my sister and her husband are non-smokers and you cannot smoke in their house. Now I will just stay with them. Imagine that! I used to PAY for a hotel room IN ORDER TO SMOKE!!!! Silly me....

Moqueen: Grandma had an excellent idea about the puppy-biting problem. We have a large dog as well. As a puppy we used a spray bottle of water to squirt at her when she misbehaved.

Moqueen-Ten days are awesome! I realize this is not a pleasure trip for you, but I do hope that you are able to enjoy your visit with family. Keep with the quit! You have a lot going on, so being a bit snappy is understandable. Have a safe trip!

Hi Moqueen, It's not o.k. to let the puppy bite. When she is full grown she will be pretty big and so will her teeth. I kept a soda can with pebbles in it to shake when my puppy bit me. She's 4 mos. and it worked. Good luck with your mom, I know what it's like my dad had Alzheimers. judy p.s. Hang on to your quit :)
