There is a light, just ride this out. Days 8-10 were the worst for me personally. After that I was fine. It was like hell and then I just felt relieved after that! I don't know how to explain it but it was nice to be past that hell I was feeling. It lasted 3 days and then went away. Although I was expecting it to be my first 3 days not a week into it. Its just different for everyone. This will pass and things will get better, I promise, just don't smoke! Dear jeanigirl How are you today? I hope better. Yes the physical withdraw is only 3 days, but you are trying to reverse what smoking has done to you for years. Today you will finish days 7 and HELL week. Then you will slide into heck week. Everyday will get easier and easier. Have you used the tools to the left? Even if you are already quit those exercises can help. Papmer yourself and drink lots of water. Stay close by read and post We are here for you. It will be awhile before your body gets used to being clean of nicotine. The nicotine may be out of your body but your body still needs to adjust. I remember experiencing withdrawl for the first 2 weeks and then other symptoms simultaneously at different times. I still think about cigs. everyday but it's very mild and I don't crave it as much anymore. It will get easier but it's not easy. Elle

Jeanigirl, distraction is what you need. Do something to pull your focus away from your quit and the way you're feeling. Preferrably something you enjoy doing. Wrapping a reward into the distraction would be great.
