Leo, How are you doing today? How long have you been suffering from these pesky attacks? I have had them for at least 15 years. Are you, or have you, seen a doctor about this? There is help, you are not alone. Post often and read what we are all going through - things can definately get better with different approaches and techniques you can easily learn and apply - immediately, in some cases. Bye for now...

Andrea, I've had a full hysterectomy as I had cancer of the uterus, ovaries etc.... so I am on hormone replacement therapy and have my hormone levels tested frequently.

Ok Donna, But did you get your hormones checked.. I mean at an OBGYN where they can check estrogen, FSH & LH levels for abnormalities? Just curious... Andrea

Tests, omg, before I was diagnosed with Anxiety I had all different tests. Full blood count, brain scan, mammogram, ultrasound, xrays etc..... It is all about reassurance and gathering the evidence you need to prove that there is nothing wrong with you physically. Having all these tests for me proved that there is nothing physically wrong with me and I can now believe that it is Anxiety. Donna

I've been told to have a full bloodwork panel done... to check my thyroid and other hormone levels for possible discrepancies. I have no idea how valid this is... I just know that more than one person has suggested this to me. I'm going on april 1st to have bloodwork done. Hope this helps you... Belle

Hi Sandy. I would refer you to the practice guidelines for panic disorder on the American Psychiatric Association website http://www.psych.org/clin_res/pg_panic.cfm Make sure to read the "concurrent medical disorders section"

Can someone inform me of what tests should be run to rule out any other conditions before being diagnosed as having anxiety? I am still not confident. Thank you.
