That was inspirational, Moqueen! You stay strong and keep on going. Your son will see that and eventually will quit for good. Be a role model to him and to all of us here on this board! I love that you stood your ground against the thoughts and I love how you said:
The most valuable lesson for me here is that although I have a thought, I don't need to act on it.
Golly, that's quite a freeing thought right there! Way to go and those 36 days sure look good on you! My son quit the same day as me and yesterday he finally started smoking again. This was after having "only one" the day before and putting his patch back on. The nicotine addict in me first reacted by thinking that maybe I should just smoke too, I even started thinking that if he can then I can also, and it's not fair, HE gets to smoke.....then the nico dragon slayer in me came out and thought, THERE IS NO WAY I EVER WANT TO HAVE TO QUIT AGAIN...:mad:I have to make this quit work so I pushed those NASTY NEGATIVE thoughts out of my mind and proudly breathed air in and out. The most valuable lesson for me here is that although I have a thought, I don't need to act on it. Yay! I am having another great smoke free day! Thanks everybody!! GOOD NEWS! Earlier today my son said to me: "I hope you don't think that I am crazy but I just threw away my pack of smokes and put a patch back on. I don't know what I was thinking....all the smokes I had were not even good...I want to quit again" Seems that he is back on track. I am just going to let him live his quit his way and me live mine my way. Anyways, I just keep on quitting.......
