Freebird,
I am glad your son is okay. And you are correct, accidents happen. I fully understand what your wife is thinking/feeling. I have 2 kids myself, and have done the exact same thing. I was lucky though that I missed everytime......
You can get through this. Please remember your coping skills. You made it through your first day (and what a day it was!). You will make it through your 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th, and so on. Promise that if you feel the need for a smoke, you will come here first, and post. Wait for 5 replies. By then, your craving will be gone.
Let water be your sidekick. I never go anywhere without a water bottle in hand. The hand-mouth connection is always there.
In the beginning, I slept, ate, cried, and ate Werthers candies every second. I also came here, day and night. I read probably every post there was.
Keep it up! You are doing great!! I know you will be o.k.
