You are doing so well, Jan! Just like Scarlett O'hara, "I'll think about that tomorrow"... I have been a bit disappointed today. I have been left out by my best friend/biggest supporter/husband. He has hurt my feelings and I just don't know if I can deal with all that is going on right now. I have had so much stress over the last few days, and I have survived smoke-free. I sometimes think he WANTS me to fail at this quit. I am going to bed, because I don't think I can deal with anymore. Escape in sleep.... Ooops....this is JAN'S post, not mine...Best wishes...Gonna :)

That's a good point, Danielle. Easier said than done....but a good point, all the same. Mind you, it is much better than ever before, but I find it difficult not to get anxious about important events to come. I suppose that's normal...Isn't it? There is a lot going right, a lot going wrong, and a lot going over my head!!! Each category is comparmentalized appropriately in my head. Now where exactly did I put my head....?

I need to learn how to do that too! That is wonderful, Jan. I often find myself worrying AHEAD of time about things I have NO control over. Good job, Jan...you are doing sooooo well! I AM going to start living in the moment right now---the buzzer just went off to let me know the banana muffins are done! :)

I feel much better today. Thanks, Jan. Yep, I guess I was being overly sensitive yesterday as well. I said some hateful things to hubby also. I'm still hurt and I'm still angry, but I'll be okay. I was going to call on Windy and ask her to roll over so I could crawl under that blanket and hide with her, but I was afraid she would have her bad-breath cat under there with her. Guess I will have to face the day...... :)

A reason people live in the past or dream of the future is to avoid present discomfort. When we change our actions today, we change tomorrow's past. As we continue to do our best, we build a new history of past successes. These new successes combine with the present and result in a very positive future. So instead of DREAMING about the past and/or the future, CREATE them by doing your best right now! Stay in the here and now and put your best foot forward. Gonna, Much easier said then done! Takes a little practice before it becomes habit but once it does, you have a new coping mechanisms for stress under your belt! You can also try momentarily removing yourself from the situation or counting to three before speaking. Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team
