Oh Stormy! I am so glad to hear that your weekend went well! It's funny but I had a fairly long drive home today and I was thinking about you and your weekend. We have a family wedding at the end of the month. My partner's family. I love drinking wine and talking till the wee hours of the morning with my sister-in-law's. On the plus side - they don't smoke and don't judge. On the negative side - not sure if I will be ready to add alcohol to my quit just yet. I think I will have to decide on that one when it gets closer to the date. Hate to blow a quit for one nite of drinking wine! Stormy, sometimes thinking about something is worse that actually doing it. It wasn't as bad as you thought. I bet you had a good time with your family, too. Good for you! I survived my weekend trip! Going back to visit my family this time was certainly different but I never lit up, even when I was in the same room with 4 different smokers. The "old habit" part toyed with the idea, but I didn't really crave it. My mind flirted with the thought whenever we stopped at certain places where I would have lit up before, like rest stops among other stops we made along the way. My husband was very supportive and each time I voiced any concerns about it he would remind me how well I was doing and how proud he was of me. It wasn't as hard as I had imagined it to be. Whenever I DID start to feel uncomfortable about it, it was never really a craving, as it was more just the thoughts. On our way home, whenever I'd start to "pine", I would think back to a couple days before I quit, when I got physically sick from smoking a cigarette. The way it made me feel and how it scared me was enough to settle my mind, because I never want to have to experience that again. SO...I am STILL going strong. Thank you all for your confidence. I DID IT! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 63 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 508 Amount Saved: $236.25 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 17 Mins: 20 Seconds: 2

Stormy - What a great accomplishment you have made! It is very hard to be in a situation where everyone is smoking. I found that it either makes you crave so bad you have to remove yourself from the situation or it makes you sick it stinks so bad! You're hubby sounds like a great support! Good for you!!! Keep up the good work!
